Today’s reading is done by Deborah @elesiedeborah titled I AM WOMAN by Emmy Meli.

It reminds us to celebrate strength, confidence, and self-worth in every form of womanhood. The piece encourages us to embrace who we are without apology and to uplift others in doing the same.

🎉 Celebrating Deborah @elesiedeborah – A Voice for Sustainability 🌍

We’re proud to celebrate Deborah for successfully hosting her second virtual mini training session on sustainability!
It was an inspiring and informative gathering, bringing together professionals from diverse fields.

Deborah encouraged everyone to take action—reminding us that no effort is too small when it comes to building a sustainable future.

She closed the session with a powerful call to action, posing two questions that continue to resonate:

1️⃣ What are you doing to ensure sustainability in your own way?
2️⃣ What will you begin doing after this session?

A big thank you to the @ecainitiative team and her amazing friends for showing up and supporting this important awareness initiative. Let’s keep the momentum growing! 🌱💚

We are proud to celebrate one of our own @elesiedeborah for successfully conducting a mini-training session with schoolchildren, raising awareness on sustainability through the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Using the UPG four pillars—Awareness, Belief, Collaboration, and Community—she helped the kids understand their role in building a more sustainable world. As a passionate advocate for Goal 13: Climate Action, she empowered the children with the knowledge that every action, no matter how small, contributes to a better future.

Sustainability is a collective effort, and we all have a role to play! Whether it’s reducing waste, supporting climate-conscious initiatives, or educating others, every step counts. Let’s continue championing sustainability together.

Following our reflections on awareness, today’s theme in our sustainability journey is BELIEF — the powerful conviction that each of us can make a difference. It’s more than just knowing the problem; it’s believing we are part of the solution.

🌍 Belief moves us beyond awareness.
It’s what shifts us from being informed to being inspired. From standing by to stepping in. When people believe their actions matter — no matter how small — change begins to happen.

In our UPG sessions, we explored how cultivating belief in others is essential to sustainability leadership. It starts with reminding ourselves and our communities:

✅ Every action counts.
✅ Every voice matters.
✅ Every person has the power to drive change.

💡 As leaders, our role is to nurture that belief in others — through storytelling, encouragement, and showing visible results. When people see themselves as capable of making an impact, they’re more likely to act.

🧠 This connects with what we’ve learned about emotions and values: when people feel emotionally connected and believe in their ability to contribute, they are empowered to make more sustainable choices.

💚 Let’s continue building not just awareness, but confidence, hope, and belief in our collective power to lead the change.

Together, we rise. Together, we act. Together, we believe. ✊🏾🌎

UPG Core Value Highlight: AWARENESS 🌍
“It is possible.”

Today, I’m reflecting on one of the powerful values that guides the UPG Sustainability Leadership journey — AWARENESS.

Awareness is about more than just knowing what’s wrong with the world — it’s about recognizing that change is possible and being committed to sharing practical, inclusive, and creative ways that people can take action.

It’s a mindset that shifts us from hopelessness to possibility, from complaint to contribution.

✨ Whether it’s promoting sustainable farming, supporting mental well-being, reducing plastic use, or fostering inclusion — every effort counts. By raising awareness, we inspire action, and by inspiring action, we make impact.

🔎 I’m learning that awareness begins with ourselves — with being present, observant, and intentional. From there, we can help others see what’s possible.

🌱 Together, let’s be the kind of leaders who remind the world that a better future is not just needed — it’s achievable. Because change begins with awareness.
