about last night…

This isn’t something I usually talk about here because it’s not directly shop-related, but I’m all sorts of emo after last night and need to brag about some really cool students who are doing some really big things at @susquehannau…

Students at SU have such a unique opportunity to start and grow businesses during their time there, with the unwavering support of not only the university and its entrepreneurship department, but also with start-up funding available through the generous support of the Troutmans, two SU alumni who have dedicated their time, energy, and financial resources to making sure students have the support they need to go after their big business ideas.

For the last year and a half, I’ve served as the Entrepreneur in Residence at @susquehannaswsb, and I feel so incredibly privileged to be in the position to help mentor, advise, and support these young entrepreneurs, and help them take the first or next step in their business ventures.

Last night, five student entrepreneurs told the story of their businesses as part of the House of Hawks business pitch competition (think: Shark Tank but way cooler), with the chance of winning $1,000 business investment.

For the last two weeks, we worked to refine their presentations, to tell their stories, and to showcase their success in a compelling way. What they accomplished in such a short amount of time is truly so impressive, but what they did on stage last night… I’ve never felt so proud.

BIG CONGRATS to

Thank you for trusting me, for doing the work, and for leaning in to the process. Yes there was a winner, but really truly, you all won.
