Same Same But Different was an absolute blast with some of my fav people ever. Several months ago this year I kept telling myself and others, "I'm done with festivals for this year, I am retired from them for 2026. A southern california festival you say? Hell no!"

But with just a little encouraging nudge from homies (cough cough, Lavar) at Boli/Namayah's gold Birthday I started to consider it as an actual possibility. At first it was still a hard no but a friend on Facebook was selling their ticket for the major low low joog af big bargain vibes like 2 weeks before the event. Funniest part was that I already had a plane ticket to that area that I randomly bought months prior planning to visit a homie (D the peaceful one) down south who it turns out was busy teaching a yoga class type thing all weekend. Basically the universe was putting it in my lap and challenging me to once again get out of my comfort zone.

Super thankful I read the signs as I did and trusted the flow, because down river from these decisions was 4 days at an awesomely curated event with a plethora of great vibes all within the parameters of a beautiful venue nestled around beaches of Lake Perris. This event lived up to and surpassed any expectations I may have had of it.

It even checked my most important box of being able to weave on site as I was able to find many suitable cottonwood spokes for weaving from a decently sized tree growing out of the water 10 ft from the shorline.

THANK YOU SACRED WATER.

Had so much fun with so many beautiful people inside and out, thank you all for sharing space so poetically and gracefully, loved every minute of it ;) except breaking my phone ;) but... that was a sign too to return to the moment and be in it.

Maybe the “irrational woman” was never irrational….

I’ve been thinking a lot about this idea that I’ve been seeing online of the “irrational” or “emotional” woman. In my life I’ve seen a woman transmute anger into a force that can create new action, in a way that no other force can replicate. As a child I remember the strength my mother carried in her anger…. And when she truly reached inside and brought that unadulterated rage out…. It would silence even the strongest man. Maybe she was responding to something everyone else had learned to normalize. Kali Ma reminds us that the feminine is not only soft, beautiful, receptive and nurturing. She is also instinct, boundaries, disruption and sacred rage. She appears when politeness is no longer powerful enough to protect what matters. Her anger is not the opposite of love… it is what love becomes when something sacred is threatened.

This is not permission to be cruel or destructive. It is permission to stop confusing silence with peace. To stop shrinking our emotions so others can remain comfortable. To trust that anger can carry information…. a boundary was crossed, a truth was buried, an injustice has been made ordinary.

And the masculine, at its healthiest, does not fear or tame this force. It meets it with steadiness. It gives the fire somewhere grounded to land…. so rage can become action, emotion can become clarity, and destruction can make space for rebirth. The world does not need a feminine that has been perfected into obedience.
It needs her softness
It needs her discernment
It needs her boundaries
And it desperately needs her sacred rage

23 ✨ dripping in gold and surrounded by so much love

Getting to celebrate my 23rd birthday alongside my best Virgo sister, Namaya, and throw one beautiful night for the two of us felt so special. And I mean… two Virgos planning a party together? Obviously there was going to be a vision and an unreasonable amount of attention to detail….Safe to say, we absolutely crushed it. whenever I thought about the year ahead, one word kept coming to me: abundance. Not just abundance in the physical or tangible sense, but abundance in love, friendship, family, beauty, connection, and in the life I’ve been lucky enough to cultivate around me. And so the them of our party: Dripping in gold, was a perfect was to enter into this new chapter. Looking around that night and seeing almost every single person I hold near and dear, all dressed in gold and white, dancing, laughing, loving, and celebrating another trip around the sun with us… it felt like that word had come to life right in front of me. The whole night was magical, dripping in gold, and overflowing with the kind of love you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. So grateful for this life, this community, and every single person who made 22 feel so incredibly beautiful ✨🤍🌙
