An evening with purpose 💜

We were honored to celebrate alongside Elijah Rising at this year’s gala — a night dedicated to the survivors and advocates working tirelessly to bring hope, freedom, and restoration to those affected by human trafficking.

Grateful to stand behind a mission that matters this much, all year round 🤍

The horrors of human trafficking are real. So often, it is easy for us to see the effects and feel overwhelmed or unsure of how to make a difference. Today, as we work with survivors of trafficking across the United States, we want to invite you to join us in making a difference. We all have a way to say "YES," to help stop this monstrous crime. Consider some of the following ways that you can get involved today:

1. Are you skilled in construction? We need your help to build places of refuge and freedom. Visit eightdaysofhope.com to learn how you can volunteer!

2. Learn more about trafficking and become an advocate in your community! Check out our educational resources here: https://eightdaysofhope.com/what-we-do/safe-house-ministry/safe-house-ministry-educational-resources/.

3. Pray. Please pray today and every day for the ministries serving survivors, for survivors as they strive toward healing, for those waiting for rescue, and for a change of heart in the perpetrators.

Thank you to the partners who joined us to pray the Lords blessing and provision over our organization.

It’s safe to say it’s the first prayer meeting in the cigar room!

Yesterday, we marched together. Tonight, we sit together.

The march at Discovery Green was a visible picture of the Body of Christ moving in unity through our city.

Let’s carry that unity forward.

Let’s build relationships.
Have conversations.
Pray together.

Let’s learn how to see people, hear their stories, and share the Gospel with love.

So that when we gather at the Table, we are ready not only to welcome people — but to truly see them, serve them, and share the hope of Jesus with them.

Tonight at 7:30 PM, Communion Community continues at City Hall as we prepare for September 25 through fellowship and practicing relational evangelism.

If you marched yesterday and felt the weight of what God is doing in Houston, keep moving with us tonight.

Come build relationships.
Come learn how to serve.
Come meet the people you may be standing beside at Communion Houston.

And if you’re interested in volunteering at Communion Houston, tonight is a great place to get connected. 🤝

Less than three weeks from now, we want to see stronger relationships built across ministries as we prepare for the Largest Public Communion Table in the History of Houston.

📍 Houston City Hall
🕢 Tonight at 7:30 PM

Don’t wait for someone else to carry what God is inviting you to help build.

One month from now, believers from across Houston will gather in the heart of our city around The Largest Public Communion Table in the History of Houston — with Jesus at the center.

This is no longer a distant vision.

The tables are being prepared.
The teams are forming.
The city is being invited.
And the moment is getting close.

Communion Houston is a call for the Body of Christ to come together across nations, generations, and denominations to show Houston what unity looks like when we gather around Jesus.

But this doesn’t happen by watching from the sidelines.

There is still room for your YES.

🔥 Host a table and make room for others.
🙌 Volunteer and help serve the people who will come.
💙 Give financially and help turn this vision into a historic gathering in the heart of Houston.

Thirty days from now, this will no longer be something we are planning.

We’ll be living it.

So ask yourself:
What part of the table are you being called to help build?

We’re so grateful to Living Word Fellowship for opening their doors and hearts to host a Human Trafficking 101 event. It was a gift to come together with our trusted partners, Elijah Rising and Street Grace, to equip the Church with greater awareness and practical ways to join the fight for freedom.
