🍁 bad bad things
SILAS LORE ART .. ft otto @elimin_te
lore drop: (be aware.. homophobia and death.. including the self inflicted variety..)
Silas is gay, and the values Silas was raised on made this large point of contention in his psyche.
He already faced hardship at home due to his mental illness. It was hardly addressed by his parents until he was landed in a mental hospital. He was treated briefly, put on medication, but he still had plenty left to deal with.

As a teenager, Silas started to defy his domineering father in small ways, like growing out his hair. He knew that man hated it, he was reminded constantly. Here, Silas found a small pocket of control in his life. Because home wasn’t the only place Silas faced difficulty.

In school, Silas had many peers that loved to pull his leg and test his temper. Silas was never very scholarly because of this. In addition to this, he struggled to thrive in a traditional classroom environment, the fluorescent lights and constant chattering made him keep his head down.

At some point he had to get a tutor, who ended up being Otto. Silas was intimidated by him. Otto was strong, intelligent, unabashedly alternative, and somehow not mean. Silas honestly gave Otto a hard time with his short attention span and tendency to give up. Still, Otto stuck around, and they eventually got along. Silas caught feelings, in a way he couldn’t deny.

Then, his father got sick of Silas’ rebellion. He dragged him downstairs, and his mom tore through his blonde locks. Silas felt like he was suffocating. The minimal control he had over his life, his illness, queerness, and religion, had fallen from his grasp.

He had to do something. Something to take it all back. Silas lured Otto out to the forest and left him in a ditch. Panicked Silas ran deeper into the forest. The guilt consumed him quick and he turned the gun on himself.
