A dreamy whirlwind of a week in NYC ✨ Spending time with friends, sharing new work at the Armory, and taking in so much wonderful art around the city.

So grateful to the wonderful Maja, Tadz, McKensie, and the whole @lobster___club team for all of your support. Also my amazing husband, who does everything under the sun, and my forever friends who love me through it all. Feeling very lucky to have shared this week with so many good people and beautiful art.

Didn’t take nearly enough photos, but the rest lives on in my mind’s eye. 🤍

The finished work only tells part of the story. At The Armory Show, we were drawn to practices where the making carries its own ideas, histories and intentions, from inherited techniques reimagined in new contexts to familiar materials dismantled, distorted and reconstructed.

💌 If you want to learn more on all 10 artists, head to the link in bio and subscribe to Culture Makes’ newsletter while you are there.

XeniArtSpace is delighted to announce CHANNELLED, curated by Ksenia Kulbachevskaia and Maria Stocker.

The exhibition brings together women artists across generations, cultures and artistic practices, exploring the idea of the artist as a channel — a conduit through which memory, personal experience, intuition, inner states and energy are transformed into visual and material form.

Spanning painting, photography, textile, sculpture and installation, CHANNELLED creates a dialogue between art history and the present, revealing different ways in which lived experience can become art.

CHANNELLED: Women in Art Across Centuries presents works by 17 artists:

It was a true pleasure to open “Tisser les imaginaires” yesterday at @fondation_thalie_ with the result of my recent residency in Arles.
It was also an honor to be exhibiting with artist I admire and of who I was happy to discover their practice and engagement around the fiber and natural fibers.
Caroline Achaintre, Amina Agueznay, Cathryn Boch, Ange Dakouo, Edith Dekyndt, Rosana Escobar, Sidival Fila, Max Funkat, Pauline Guerrier, Majd Abdel Hamid, Sheila Hicks, Ilanit Illouz, Eva Jospin, Asemahle Ntlonti, Junko Oki, Lucy Orta + Jorge Orta, Elise Peroi, Simone Pheulpin, Kustaa Saksi, Diana Scherer, Kiki Smith, Françoise Vanneraud, Georges Tony Stoll, Leo Orta.

The project took place in the last 3 months with the idea to create object with materials from the region and inspired from traditional objets found in the regions museums. @aleor_design decided to help create an edition of lamps and chairs around techniques of willow and rattan wicker in which we also collected Provence’s invasive canne through Camargue.

We worked in our studio in Seine-et-Marne together with my team composed this year of @migueldesousacardinho @penelopehugon @alixiabachy to which joined @paulinolz Eleni Matthews and @capucine.gromy for finals touches.

I want to thanks @nathalie.guiot which carried the project and the gallery team @alexia_venot and @sienvandeneynde for the support along the project.
