Slide for poem…

Perhaps there comes a time when you have to know when to let go of the artist within you.

When making art stops being a way of surviving the wound and becomes a way of keeping it alive.

Do we keep anger buried under the weight of our love or are we just stubborn to admit that we were wrong and fighting for so long makes us forget why we fell in love in the first place?

Love me some good fantasy romance btw 😅 what book are you currently reading?

Seems like I botched the last slide so here it is…

I stared at the pair on the floor.

“So,” I said slowly, “it’s not just one pair.”

“Correct.”

“Definitely not,” the first voice added cheerfully, sounding far too happy about it.

Something about that didn’t feel fair.

“We learned about this in school,” I said, mostly to myself. Saying it out loud helped me think. “Walking in other people’s shoes.”

Both voices went quiet.

“What’s it called again?” I asked.

I snapped my fingers.
“Ah yes. Empathy.”

A beat passed.

“See?” the first voice said smugly. “He does pay attention in class.”

The second voice sighed. “Sometimes.”

I looked down at the shoes.

They were still there.

Waiting.

…

Somewhere while writing Chapter 3, I realised this story could be so much bigger than I had planned.

And that’s the dangerous part of long-form fiction — you fall in love with its potential.
You go back. You rewrite. You doubt. You rewrite again.

As a poet, I’m used to intensity in small spaces.
This? This is expansive. Liberating. Frustrating. Endless.

But the worlds it opens up inside you…

What’s life without a little magic anyway?
Being grounded in reality is overrated.

✨ Hug the Darkness ✨

This Diwali
may we light the kind of flame
that doesn’t blind the dark
but holds it with love.
