Special #tbt today! Exactly 10yrs ago was my MMA debut for @legacyfighting @lfafighting at 31yrs old 💪🥊

Just five years later I became an undefeated MMA World Champion for @bellatormma 🌎🏆

MMA is the scariest thing I have ever done. The nerves I had for my first fight was crazy!!! You can’t even begin to compare MMA adrenaline to a Jiu-Jitsu competition. As afraid as I was, I knew that’s why I had to do it 💯

Over time, I fell in love with it. Nothing excited me more than that challenge & the feeling of making the walk & getting locked in that cage. I didn’t do it for money or fame, I did it for my legacy & to express myself as a True Martial Artist 🥋

I’m very grateful for everything I learned & experienced along the way 🙏

#ThrowbackTuesday to my first professional MMA fight, 9yrs ago today @legacyfighting @lfafighting 💪🥊🥋

This was the first fight I ever had in my life!!! (Minus some amateur boxing fights I did as a kid) I did not have any amateur MMA experience & I have never in my life, been in any sort of street altercation. Now hear I was at 31yrs old, transitioning to a new sport, fighting a guy who was 4-1 & had just brutally knocked out his prior opponent, & I was fighting in front of all my @lovatobjjmma students here in Oklahoma…the pressure & fear was the most intense feeling I had ever experienced!!!

However, as a True Martial Artist, I knew there was no way I was ever going to go through my life & not challenge myself in the ultimate combat arena. I had to conquer that fear & I needed to know how I would respond.

Despite being an underdog, I controlled the fight from start to finish & won by first round submission & earned the submission of the night.

I had many mixed feelings with how I would enjoy fighting MMA. In the beginning I didn’t really like it, but over time I fell in love with that moment of the caged doors locking & feeling myself become 100% focused on my mind, body, & technique inside the true CHAOS.

MMA brought my whole life of martial arts together with all of my teachers & cherished brothers. I fully believe that I was made to fight MMA & that is what I am most skilled at.

Less than 5yrs later I would become an undefeated World Champion @bellatormma 🏆

Why buy dozens of dumbbells when flywheel training automatically adapts the resistance to the user?🧐

The harder you pull, the more resistance you’ll experience!
