Blurring the lines between fashion, adornment, and cultural storytelling, designer and stylist Charli Nicholls (Ngāti Tamaterā) is forging a deeply personal design language through her label, @charlinikora. Grounded in mātauranga Māori and a reverence for handmade craft, Nicholls creates custom-made crochet and raranga pieces that feel sculptural, intricate, and intentionally slow. For FQ’s Winter 2026 issue, she collaborated with contributor @katiebegbie on Te Ao Raranga: A Woven World — a fashion story exploring the layered cultural histories and craft traditions shaping contemporary fashion in Aotearoa. From sheep to shop! 🐏 AUT Master of Design graduate Ella Cook is at Flock Hill Station in the Canterbury high country as part of the “From Sheep to Shop” internship.  A partnership between @zenterawool (formerly The New Zealand Merino Company) and Italian textile group @reda1865, the four-month global internship provides an end-to-end understanding of the wool journey; from on-farm production in Aotearoa through to spinning, weaving and finishing in Italy.  During her time at Flock Hill Station, Ella will learn about sheep farming practices, wool classing, testing, brokering and supply chain standards. Later this year, she will travel to Italy to complete four months of hands-on learning across Reda’s production departments, sustainability initiatives and brand divisions.  Congratulations @ella.cook.archive !
