Just a few quick thoughts on the @postawaytravels Hospitality Summit for hosts and creators... As I said, I am NOT a conference person. Even the thought of them makes me exhausted, but this was completely different. I left inspired and ready to sign up for next year. No surprise, if anyone can pull off an amazing event and bring people together from both the hosting world and creative world, it's my friend, Jamie @chestnuthillcabin. I absolutely love hosting and creating special spaces for friends and families to make memories. I love the challenge of leveling up my game and learning from smart and talented people. But I don't love a loud conference for the masses and not actually getting to connect with people, which is why the @postawaytravels Summit was so special. This was the ideal way to learn and make new friends. So the introvert in me gives this summit a 5 start review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Come join us next year in Breck! if i told myself at 18 years old that i’d finally find the right path in college, love it, graduate, and have an army of supporters backing me up, i wouldn’t have believed me. however, here i am to shout it from the mountain tops: I’M SO PROUD TO BE A COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI!!!!! 🐏💚🌻🌲🏔️ thank you to everyone who has been there for me throughout my journey. pictured or not, your love has gotten me to this point and will continue to propel me forward. it will not be wasted or lost to time. i cannot wait to share my skills and passion for the planet with the rest of the world. i promise to make it a better place, one landscape at a time.

My sweet girl is 21 years old today. She was the first to call me “Mom”. It’s so bittersweet, this gift of parenting. To watch your children grow into beautiful adults with their passions, interests and flavor of life. I still so her as the little 5 year old, excited to start kindergarten at her big girl desk. Now she’s graduating college and launching into a brand new adventure. But time does not wait for any of us. I’m left to savor each smile and every tear. Every moment of Joy and every hardship. @ella.jstewart you’re such a gift to me! You’ve taught me so much about being a mother. I admire your tenacity and your deep thinking mind! I love your silly dancing and the way you light up when you see the your pets. I love how goofy chocolate makes you and how much you care so deeply for how others feel. You’re an independent woman who has planted her flag on things that truly matter and you won’t be persuaded differently. And you’re a kind and gentle soul who cares deeply about those you love. I hope 21 blows your mind!! I wish you the loveliest day. Today is your day - Happy Birthday!!! I wonder what you’ll order at dinner?? 😳🙃😉

We went to the Denver Nuggets game Friday night…(spoiler alert: I’m a HUGE basketball fan - I love it almost as much as I love hiking in the mountains 😜) Back to the story…during a time out, a couple was chosen to play a game for a brand new car. The girl was the one playing, focused, laughing, trying her best…. while her guy stood on the sidelines, cheering her on and smiling from ear to ear. She didn’t finish the game in time, so she didn’t win the car. But as soon as she turned around… he was down on one knee - ring in hand. Right there in Ball Arena, in front of thousands of people, he asked her to marry him - and it was the sweetest moment!! At first, she looked shocked and even hesitant, but within seconds her smile broke through and you could see her laser focus, like the whole arena had disappeared and it was just them. Eyes bright. Laughter. Pure joy. And in that moment, I thought… That’s what the beginning of every big adventure feels like. Bright eyes. Full heart. Hope and expectation so loud it drowns out fear and doubt. That quiet knowing that says, “Anything is possible with you.” Somewhere along the way, when life gets heavy, business gets hard, or dreams take longer than we planned, we forget that feeling. We forget the joy we had when we said yes the first time. But maybe it’s time to plug back into that. To remember why you started. To feel the excitement of a fresh beginning, even in the middle of the messy middle. Because that spark is still in you. And the God who started that good work in you, He’s not finished yet. 💛 Go back to your “yes.” The one you said when your eyes were bright and your faith was so loud you believed anything was possible!!!

We had a spontaneous afternoon at the local corn maze this weekend. Our weekend plans shifted quite a bit and Saturday was wide open with nothing in particular on the agenda. Ava spent time with her bestie who was in town from college, Stephen was traveling and Ella, Grant and I were looking for something fun to do…. We ended up at the Denver Botanic Gardens Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch at Chatfield Farms in Littleton. It was the most beautiful fall day (Fall in Colorado really is a dream) and we had the best time. We laughed all the way through the corn maze….its so funny remembering when the kids were little how “hard” the corn maze was to find your way out. This time felt more like an afternoon walk through the corn fields - we just laughed and ate kettle corn all the way through. Of course, we took pictures and acted silly. But it was the best day. Seeing all of the young families with their little ones in tow…dressed in their cute fall outfits, taking pictures by the hay bales and antique truck surrounded by mums brought a flood of memories from when my kids were that age. It’s the unexpected outings like this that make me so happy. Spending time with my people - enjoying one another’s company - it’s the best life. We didn’t “plan” this adventure and I think that’s what made it so fun. I guess the point here is - When your young adult kids ask you to go to the Corn Maze with them just for fun - you go! Happy Fall to everyone - go have some fun!

A Texas wedding with my beautiful family. It was good to see H-Town again… But I’m definitely a mountain girl now, and as soon as my plane landed in Denver - I was smiling from ear to ear.

This summer has been a breath of fresh air. Time with my family and friends who feel like my own has been incredible. July 4th in Crested Butte with friends and family. @soph_230 visited from Austria, @kenlinn_b visiting from Singapore, Having all 3 of my kids together before the girls head off to college in the Fall. @ella.jstewart @ava.claire.s @gstew.3 I was uncertain I could ever love summer in Colorado as much as I love Fall, but it may be a close tie between the two seasons now. It’s definitely a season overflowing with joy for me!
