Home is such a funny word. For so long, it described a singular place for me: my house. But now my home is found in a million people and a million memories. Yet, throughout all these different versions of home I have collected, Kaio will always be the most important to me.

I never really understood what it meant to feel a sense of belonging to a church building or a group of people, but Kaio completely flipped that for me. I now beleive and know that Community is one of the most beautiful gifts we can be given to steward, and Abba gave me the greatest gift in Kaio.

Every single person I have met through Kaio has impacted my life in an incredible way, and I am truly thankful for each and every one of you. The connections I've formed here are my greatest treasure. And leaving you all has caused me to mourn so greatly.

Kaio is a place of hope, a place for the saints to be equipped, a place where I have encountered God time and time again.

When I found Kaio, church felt like a beautifully crafted lie, but my entire perspective shifted when I walked through those glass doors for the first time and encountered real and genuine love.

I struggled with viewing God as a loving God for so long. After all I had been through and all I had endured, I couldn't fathom God being a man of love. That's until Pastor Nathan revealed to me that "love longs to communicate." And that "The God of the cosmos earnestly desires connection with YOU" Not only was God a loving God, but He is my Father, my Abba. He is Love.

God has always desired me (and you) even at my lowest and he wanted to show and communicate where His love was in times I felt desperately alone. I just had to step out and ask Him to reveal it. Through clenched fists and a hardened heart, I asked God to show me His love, and my life has forever and eternally changed.

No longer do I walk in shame, but I run the race with freedom. No longer do I cry in anger, but I cry out to my living God. No longer do I fear sleep because I know my God speaks through dreams. No longer do I view home as a building you go to when the sun sets, but I view home as a place of love.

Thank you Jesus for giving me a home in Kaio.
