If you miss Rudy’s BBQ peppered turkey, you NEED to try this vegan copycat 🌱🔥

This homemade vegan peppered turkey is smoky, savory, packed with peppery flavor, and has 23g of protein per 1/8 serving.

It’s my plant-based take on the classic Rudy’s BBQ peppered turkey, made for anyone who wants that same savory, sliceable BBQ experience without the meat.

Want the recipe? 👀

Check the link in my bio, head to the blog, or comment TURKEY and I’ll personally send you the recipe. No app, no bot, no automated response. I’m actually here 😂

I MADE A VEGAN RUDY’S BBQ BRISKET SANDWICH 🤤🌱

If you’re from Texas, you already know how serious we are about BBQ. So yes, I had to make a vegan version of one of my favorite BBQ sandwiches.

This vegan brisket is smoky, savory, and packed with BBQ flavor. And when you pile it onto warm, white sandwich bread with BBQ sauce, pickles, and red onion… oh my gosh. 😮‍💨

Honestly, you’ll love it too and you don’t need to be vegan to make this one!

🌱 100% vegan
🔥 Texas BBQ inspired
🥪 Perfect for a cookout
💪 High-protein & macro-friendly (36 grams!)

I have the FULL recipe on my blog now → 🔗 in bio!

Save this for your next BBQ and send it to the person who thinks “vegan food can’t be good.” 💭

Better than your dad’s brisket 🔥

I said what I said.

My vegan BBQ brisket is made with jackfruit + vital wheat gluten and is sweet, smoky, savory, and SO good.

31g of protein per serving, low in fat, VERY high in protein, and macro friendly too! You can make it even more macro friendly by leaving out the sugar or swapping it for a sugar alternative.

If you’re going to a Labor Day cookout this weekend, BRING THIS AND THROW IT ON THE GRILL TO REHEAT! Especially if you’re the only vegan there because you deserve to eat good too. 😚

As someone from Texas, I’m not giving up BBQ just because I went vegan. You can still have the foods you grew up eating. You just have to make them plant based. 🌱🤠

Comment “BRISKET” and I’ll send you the full vegan brisket recipe!

Biscuits & gravy, but make it vegan! 🌱

Growing up in Texas, so many of our comfort foods are centered around meat and dairy. And when you go plant based, it can feel like you’re supposed to give up all the foods you grew up loving.

But you don’t! 🤎

This biscuits & gravy is macro-friendly, high-protein, and completely plant based, made with my Whataburger copycat white country gravy from the blog + my tofu breakfast sausage. You can also use your favorite vegan sausage to make it even easier!

Plant based eating doesn’t have to mean completely changing how you eat. Sometimes, starting with the comfy classics you already love makes branching out so much easier.

You just have to be willing to try something new. 🌱 And trust me, plant based food is AMAZING when you give it a chance.

Comment “COMFORT” and I’ll send you the recipe! 👇🏼

I used to order chicken tenders with white country gravy at Whataburger ALL the time. Then I went vegan 4 years ago and I thought this Texas favorite was gone for good. 🥹🤠

So I finally made my own VEGAN Whataburger style white country gravy and it tastes like the nostalgic comfort food I remember, just completely dairy free! 🤍

If you’ve been missing creamy country gravy, vegan comfort food, or Texas classics since going plant based or want to try something new, you NEED this recipe.

🌱 No dairy
🤠 Texas & Whataburger inspired
🥣 Creamy, savory & easy to make

Comment “GRAVY” and I’ll send the recipe straight to your DMs! You can also find it on my recipe blog, But Make It Vegan @butmakeitvegan.blog with more vegan, high-protein and macro-friendly recipes.

This vegan breakfast sausage is made from tofu AND vital wheat gluten. It has that chewy, hearty texture I love! ❤️

Savory tofu seasoned with smoky spices, garlic, herbs, and the right amount of seasoning to give it that classic breakfast sausage flavor…without the meat!!

The texture is the winner here. Chewy, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with 21 grams of plant-based protein per serving. 💪🌱

It’s super easy to make, meal-prep friendly, and SO good atop biscuits and gravy (I cannot WAIT to share that recipe). And if you need to make the recipe gluten free, just omit the vital wheat gluten and you’re good to go! The sausage will be just as chewy 😉

Comment SAUSAGE and I’ll send you the full recipe + macro breakdown, or grab it from the link in my bio!

This quiche has 18g of protein and zero eggs 👀❌🍳

Crispy, smoky vegan bacon, a tofu & egg white based filling seasoned with kala namak for that eggy flavor, and melty vegan cheese, baked into a crust. The real MVP is Healthier Comforts’ animal-free egg white protein which is made using precision fermentation, so it whips and sets just like the real thing, minus the chicken!! High protein, plant-based, and ready in about an hour.

Bonus: I used the extra filling to make a hash brown version (recipe in blog has both).

Comment QUICHE and I’ll send you the full recipe + macro breakdown, or grab it from the link in my bio (GF option included).

Hey friends! I’m baaack 😉 My name is Ellese and I have a passion for sharing homemade, plant-based, macro friendly recipes. Also, I have 2 cats, fiancée to cameron, and I love to exercise. I competed in two NPC level bodybuilding competitions (fully vegan too) during 2024 and been vegan for 4 years.

In the past, I shared my recipes on my personal instagram, created my first But Make It Vegan website/recipe blog, and started a texas cottage home bakery to sell goods at a market. I needed to take a break from social media after bodybuilding, feeling like I wasn’t going to make a change sharing my recipes, feeling like I let my passion for recipe developing and cooking slip through my fingers, and felt pressured to attempt to make perfect content like so many others do.

Now I realize, sharing genuine and original content is what we need. My goal is to share how to veganize Texas restaurant favorites and share my original, high protein/macro friendly recipes again. So welcome 🤗🌱💞 I am so glad you’re here!
