Some stuff I never posted from our trip to Diablo lake and Ross lake. And our stay on Cat island in the middle of Ross lake.

Had a blast at lake Cle Elum. Both found and mined some natural Crystals that normally would bee deep under the lake, but got exposed due to low water levels.

It is so important to stay in touch with anyone you think or know may be experiencing domestic violence because as more cities go into lockdown due to COVID-19, victims of abuse are at risk of increased and potentially more severe abuse.

Reaching out to an abused person and letting them know you care about them and offering your support may help to save their life. DO NOT ignore domestic violence and DO NOT tell yourself that you can’t make a difference because you CAN!

If you are being abused and trying to escape, be assured many and most services are still available right now for domestic violence victims and please connect with an advocate or resource center (domestic violence coalition) in your state to find out what resources are available to you. 💜

Last year was pretty incredible, partly because I had the opportunity to be interviewed several times when I finally decided to come out with my story about surviving years of domestic violence before finding a new life and career in fitness. One of the amazing people I’ve been interviewed by since was entrepreneur extraordinaire, Rick Jordan @mrrickjordan 🙌🏼 Mad respect for Rick for always telling it like it is and we connected on so many points, such as taking responsibility for the success of your future and finding a good support system or role models to encourage you on this path. Fitness is about more than getting in great shape, it’s about all the changes you undergo as a whole person, such as establishing consistent routines, choosing a healthy lifestyle and the mental and emotional conditioning that takes place when you become so disciplined. The BEGINNING of loving myself..
was the END of loving someone,
who didn’t love me at ALL...

Looking FORWARD to the possibility of a HAPPY future, instead of at the present (when I hit my rock bottom) is what got me here...

BELIEVING in something that didn’t yet exist, believing in MYSELF out of sheer desperation (when I didn’t even know WHO I was) is what got me here...
⠀
Deciding the my life MATTERED and I was here for a PURPOSE (even when people had tried to convince me otherwise and I didn’t have a clue what that “purpose” was) is what got me here...

PRAYING for the STRENGTH to keep going (when I wanted to throw in the towel and call it quits) is what got me here and still keeps me here, to be quite honest.

I am not alone in this struggle. My story, my struggles are not completely unique, but I believe that at the point we are able to turn our focus into helping others deal with the suffering and obstacles they experience in their lives is when we are able to face the demons of our past and find purpose in our pain.
