How I became World's Vice Champion - OCR Short course - Elite woman

Consistency can lead you to grow toward bigger achievements. That's the learning I take from this race ☺️

What happened during the race and I think helped me the most:
✅Sticking to the pack while keeping in control of my initial pace
✅Taking risks when needed and getting lucky
✅Keeping aware of my surroundings in order not to do a rule understanding mistake (for the first time on a world obstacle Short course 🤣)
✅Pushing until the end no matter the placement or odd s
✅Staying focus on the task without getting overwhelmed by a possible result

All this with the support of the family 🫶

Thanks to all that made my participation possible:

Ireland 🇮🇪🙏🏽

Nobody attending this event has much nice to say about the organisation - but the OCR community? Different story. Once again we show up, laugh through the chaos, share the good stuff, and make the most of a messy situation. Love this sport for that.

For me this was the first step in a 3-race ladder before the winter (off-)season. Felt okay - not amazing. Happy with 5th on the 400m, not unhappy with 13th on the 3km, and overall pleased with how I showed up on and off the course. Team races were, as always, a great experience 😇

Results are one parameter of success. Far from the most important one - never forget that 😇

On to the next 🇨🇳

The Netherlands had a fantastic day on Saturday 👏

@elsarijpstra and @stijnemite secured double Gold for their country 🇳🇱

It was an epic race to witness and the level of athleticism across the field was insane. Congrats to all athletes that took on the standard course in Limerick!
