Mucho gusto Costa Rica 🤍🇨🇷

It’s been 4 days since I got back from Costa Rica, and I still can’t find the words to express how much this trip impacted me. I went hoping to make an impact on others, not realizing the impact they would have on me.

This trip filled my heart with so much joy and a deeper passion for healthcare. It taught me that empathy has no language barrier and that sometimes the best medicine is simply listening and meeting people where they are. I’m so thankful to have left with new friends, knowledge, and memories I’ll cherish forever. Although this wasn’t a religious mission trip, I saw God present in so many moments, and that was one of the most beautiful parts of it all. Thank you Costa Rica for teaching me what Pura Vida truly means: to live a life focusing on gratitude, community, peace, & joy over stress. 🌴🫶

I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside @vidavolunteer during my medical mission trip. This experience was truly so special to me. Getting to connect with patients, hear their stories, and be a small part of their care reminded me why I want to pursue a career in healthcare. I learned so much from the doctors, the patients, and the communities I worked with. I’m also so thankful for the new friendships I made along the way and for the people who made this experience even more meaningful and memorable. This is an experience I will forever carry.

Thank you Costa Rica for allowing me to learn and love more than I could have ever imagined. Seeing this trip come to life has been the biggest blessing. Over these past few months I’ve been working to bring a group of eager students from FAU to Costa Rica on a medical mission trip. I knew we would all be impacted by this experience, but I could never imagine to what extent. This trip was so much more than medicine. It was about connection, service, gratitude, and loving people exactly where they are. Watching this experience unfold and seeing the impact it had on every student, patient, and person we encountered is something I will carry with me forever. My life had been permanently changed by the love Costa Rica and all its people have showed me. Remember to be the kindness that changes someone’s day.❤️
