Designed by Walter Travis in 1896, @capearundelgolfclub is a historic and architectural marvel tucked into just 88 acres near Kennebunkport, Maine. What the Golden Age design might lack in length—a par-69 tipping out at less than 6,000 yards—it makes up for in imagination.

No patio in golf is more exciting or special to me than the patio at the iconic Stanford White-designed clubhouse at #shinnecockhills completed in 1892. Sitting here, you immediately feel the history. It is the oldest incorporated golf club and was one of the five founding member clubs of the USGA. The rolling, links-like terrain is laid out in front of you.
Here you can see some of the buildout for the upcoming @usopen the week of June 15.
This will be the fifth U.S. Open I’ll be covering at Shinnecock, and every visit feels just as special as the first.

A rare look at one of golf’s most acclaimed Golden Age courses—Mountain Lake, a 1915 Seth Raynor design—as it prepares for a six-month long restoration.

A historical standout in Florida, golf’s best supplied state, Mountain Lake is undergoing a major restoration led by architect @tylerraedesign aimed at protecting its long-term health while reconnecting the private layout to its original design. One of fewer than 50 surviving Raynor courses includes several of the classic “template” holes that the architect and mentor C.B. Macdonald made famous, including the Redan, Biarritz, Eden, Punchbowl, and Road.
