Final semester dump heavily featuring graduation week and The Visit because… well what else was this semester really? 😂

Feeling so grateful and supported as I close this chapter 💗 Thank you to everyone who made this last semester more than I could have ever hoped for. I’m nervous to leave this place that has become my second home, but knowing I have so many people rooting for me inspires me to have the faith in myself that they do. I thank God for each and every person that has touched my experience at UF- I owe so much of who I am to each of you and I wouldn’t change the past four years for anything 🧡💙🐊

For now…
ONWARD!

HEALER in F.PUNK JUNKIES

It has taken me awhile to fully verbalize the experience that was this show. This show was so special and encapsulated the Latino and Female experience through text, dance, and song. Being able to represent my family within this show was an opportunity I’ll never take for granted! It was an absolute honor to be apart of this journey with such a powerful and dynamic group of women. I will cherish the moments we shared during this process forever. 🌟💜🧞‍♀️

“That’s my abuela in my hips”
-Shapeshifter
🇨🇺🇩🇴🇪🇸

Happy National Theatre Day!!!
I thought today would be the perfect time to post about F. Punk Junkies!
This show impacted me in a way I never imagined, as a transfer and first year Acting student I didn’t think I’d have such a big opportunity playing Shapeshifter and telling their story. As a 2nd generation cuban, this show allowed me to share my culture and family with you all. I did this for my abo, who I know is looking down and proud of the person I am becoming. I’m beyond grateful for RHT and Augusto for giving me the space and support I needed. This show is about community, revolution, and love. Being in a female-led production, showed me what strength and resilience truly means. Thank you Shapeshifter for showing me my fluidity and how much courage my abo gave me.

Congratulations to the company of F. Punk Junkies on an amazing run! From high energy dances to powerful stories, this was a beautiful and electrifying show to kick off the spring semester!

When asked about F. Punk Junkies being her final show at UF, Senior BFA Acting Major Emily Mahleb said @emazzing1 ,"Being able to play someone as complex and relatable as Es was a truly special experience, and getting to hear Teo talk about his inspirations and the story behind the character was an honor we don’t always get as performers. I could not think of a more fulfilling show to close out my time here <3"
