Emily Mullen - Textile Design - Knit

Crochet Accessories Designer

My graduate collection explores the tension between childhood playfulness and adulthood through timeless crochet accessories. Inspired by my placement year in a corporate office, the project reflects the contrast between muted professional dress and the creativity of childrenswear.

Nostalgia became a key theme, exploring the bittersweet feeling of growing up while holding onto girlhood, creativity, and playfulness, something that felt personal as I transition from university into adulthood.

Influenced by femininity, pastel tones, iridescent textures, nostalgic styling, and delicate embellishment, my pieces feel like treasured keepsakes, encouraging individuality, self-expression, and conscious fashion.
