“Buckets of battered bellies between
The ocean has take the weight
My shoulders they shutter
The butterflies flutter away
When the hour is late, late.
Down in the darkest cave…”

The cave is dedicated to all of the women in my life and around the world who have had their basic rights threatened or taken away. It was so special to record this song with a female heavy crew as these songs were all written after going through a very intimate experience with my body where I felt that the only voice I could clearly hear was that of my inner child. Womanhood is such a sacred thing and while it is so widely shared, it can feel extremely isolated. I wanted to write a song that spoke to that isolation.

“The Cave” and the music video will be yours 02/27💌
Andrew and I filmed the music video in the snowy Scottish highlands this past January and I can’t wait to show you. This eerie and wonderful cover was also taken by @andrwmckay on @emilryge large format film camera on my grandparents farm in Denmark this past Christmas.
