On Thursday morning, our family said goodbye to Freddy. In what the vet described as a rare situation, he likely experienced a blockage that led to rapid kidney failure. There were no signs as recently as Saturday. Freddy was seven years old.

We will miss our little guy forever. ❤️

Since our sudden and devastating end to September, we’ve been trying to answer the universe by putting out as much kindness as possible in place of our pain.

We always dreamed of having a second dog, but we knew Mabel would never approve. And while life hasn’t gone the way we planned, losing the dream of growing old with her pushed us to chase another dream—one we had happily set aside when we found Mabel.

Through the kindness of others during our family’s hardest time, we were connected with two special ladies who needed loving homes. And maybe it took a little bit of grief-driven impulsiveness to say yes… but here we are.

On behalf of Emily, Boots, Freddy, Harvey, and myself, we’re so happy to introduce our new cuddle bugs and already best friends: Sammy and October.

There will be more introductions and stories to come, but for now—please help us welcome our two fall queens to their forever home. ☕️❤️

We live in Kansas City - not King City! 💖

The two of us had a lovely time, peacefully protesting with Emily, Molly, and Papa Dennis today. Standing around one of our city's most iconic fountains, it felt good to be surrounded by others who share the same desire for kindness and acceptance that we do! 🫶

There are a lot of words to this but I can't fit them in the post. I had to put it in a blog.

Tl;dr I am writing this so much earlier in my life than I expected. On Friday morning, Emily and I lost our beloved Mabel. And although the tragic circumstances are something I’ll spend a very long time unpacking, I want to focus on the amazing life she gave me and my little family.

Another weekend at CrimeCon has come and gone! We are so unbelievably grateful to everyone who stopped by our booth, spun our wheel, and confessed their petty crimes to us! We will be sharing all of those juicy stories and more on an upcoming episode. So stay tuned and more importantly...stay PETTY!
