A bridal hairstyle should never just look beautiful from the front. On a wedding day, a bride is photographed from every possible angle walking down the aisle, during the ceremony, from behind, from the side, throughout the speeches and all the way into the evening. That’s why, when I create bridal hair, I’m constantly checking the shape, balance and proportions from every angle. The placement of the volume, the silhouette from the side, how the hair sits from behind, how it works with the bride’s face shape, dress and veil every detail matters. A truly beautiful bridal hairstyle should look considered and flattering at 360°. This is something I’ll be covering in much more detail during my November Hair Masterclasses, alongside the techniques I use to create polished, long-lasting bridal styles. Wilden x Duboux was an opportunity to see how far we could push our respective crafts. I’ve always been drawn to old-world couture techniques- the patience, intricacy and skill behind them but I use those techniques as a foundation, not as a set of rules. Look closely and you’ll see embellishment crafted from real mother of Pearl, hand painted Devorè, ribbon embroidery, peyote and tambour beadwork, historic and vintage silhouettes. I love taking those techniques and asking what else they could become. Changing the scale. Playing with proportion. Combining traditional handwork with unexpected materials. Taking something familiar and using it in a way that feels entirely new. Our eyes, minds and hands work differently - human to human - to visual and create our goals, and that’s where the beauty lies. Only Wilden X Duboux could create these looks. My obsession started with styling the hair of my Barbies and progressed to the school playground steps where friends would sit while I French plaited their hair. The bridal industry frequently labels my presence on a wedding morning as magic. In truth, the real mastery lies in the cultivation of stillness. A wedding morning demands an anchor. I bring an uncompromising standard of editorial artistry, balanced by an unwavering sense of calm, warmth, and lighthearted perspective. I protect the peace, ensuring the process is as effortless as it is elevated. Tonight, in the midst of London Fashion Week, that exact philosophy takes physical form. Alongside my collaborator, visionary and friend @wildenlondon, we present bridal catwalk designed to redefine the modern aesthetic. This is the absolute antithesis of the predictable, uniform bridal look. Every design from our newly unveiled couture menu was engineered strictly around the individuality, the movement, and the character of the muse carrying it. No templates. No replication. Just raw, bespoke elegance designed to elevate high fashion.
