If you are looking for things to do to build momentum following the No Kings event, here are 5 things to do now that it's came and went (slide 2 by: @moirakeepsgoing ). 📍733 L Street Fresno CA 93721
⏰️ 6 p.m.

The people of the United States are demanding an end to ICE’s reign of terror, and the only way forward is to SHUT IT DOWN. On Friday, January 30, we call for a nationwide shutdown. A day of NO school, NO work, and NO shopping. A collective refusal. A collective stand.

Our people are grieving and outraged at the killings of our Black, Brown Latino/Afro Latino/Hispanic, Indigenous relatives, and all our other ethnic brothers and sisters. People like Silverio Villegas González, Keith Porter Jr., Heber Sanchez, Francisco Gaspar‑Andres, Marie Ange Blaise, and Victor Manuel Diaz. These losses are not new. This violence has been inflicted on our communities since colonization, and ICE is simply the latest extension of that legacy. Even ICE’s own website admits its lineage, stating that its functions “predate the modern birth of the agency by more than 200 years and trace back through the development of the United States across the 19th and 20th centuries.”. Our communities have lived the consequences of that history: lives lost in custody, over a thousand still missing, families torn apart. This is what colonialism has always done, break apart Brown families to break apart Brown communities.

We are labeled “terrorists” or “immigrants,” but we know the truth. Our ancestors were born of this soil. Our presence is older than the borders used against us. We are the descendants they tried and failed to erase. Our survival is proof. Every day, ICE, Border Patrol, and other enforcers of these policies enter our neighborhoods to detain our relatives and spread fear. This violence is not abstract. It is lived. It is ongoing. And it must end.

Now is the time for ALL of us to rise together in a nationwide shutdown and declare, with ONE voice: Enough! NO more killings. NO more disappearances. NO more terror. NO more ICE.
ICE OUT.

Special shout out to our fantastic group members who contributed to this post.

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨EMERGENCY ACTION🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

⏰️:Tonight at 6 p.m.
📍: In front of the ICE detention facility at
733 L Street in Fresno.

Yesterday morning, in Minneapolis Minnesota, ICE agents shot and killed 37 year old legal observer Renee Nicole Good while she was doing her job during a raid. The ICE agent who shot her murdered her in cold blood and was not acting in self-defense in any way. She died trying to protect her neighbors and community, and that is why people from all over the country from Minneapolis to Fresno are demanding justice for Renee and for the eradication of ICE. The destruction of lives, separation of families, terrorizing of neighborhoods and communities, and the dehumanizing and distributing treatment of human beings must STOP! Join us and a few other local groups and organizations to stand in solidarity and let our voices be heard.🕯🥀

🗣📢 HEY FRESNO.....
Fresno City Council members Miguel Arias & Annalisa Perea wanted to ban street vendors in the Tower District, but your public outcry has WORKED! The city council has removed the ban from the upcoming policy proposal, BUT they have NOT released the complete details of the amendment, so we are still urging everyone to call (559-621-800), email (clerk@Fresno.gov) and reach out to your council member and the city council to voice your concerns about the future of street vendors in the Tower District. Then, show up for the Fresno City Council meeting this Thursday, November 20th, at 9 a.m. to have your voice heard and to join us as we stand up for the street vendors in the Tower District. Remember to arrive early to find parking and to bring change for the parking meters.

Attention Fresno:
We are holding two more emergency rallies for our street vendors in the Tower District on Saturday evening, November 15th, from 8-10 p.m. and Sunday, November 16th, on the corner of Maroa & Olive from 3-4 p.m. to raise awareness on the Fresno City Council's new policy proposal, BILL B-46 (For Reintroduction) - Amending Sidewalk Vending Ordinance to ban all street vendors in the Tower District. They will be voting on the policy proposal next Thursday, so continue calling, emailing, DMing, and hand writing letters to your councilmember and the City Council letting them know that you say NO to the ban on street vendors. Instead of banning the street vendors, we are asking the city to reimagine its current policy as well as the new policy proposal to allow our street vendors to continue to be a core part of our Tower community. Finally, make sure to show up for the city council meeting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 20th, at Fresno City Hall at 2600 Fresno Street, Fresno, CA 93721. Let's have our voices heard and show the city council that we stand with our street vendors, we say NO to the new policy proposal and that street vendors BELONG in the Tower District. Bring small signs, plenty of change for the parking meters, and remember to show up with enough time to find parking.
