Join us for the TJAC Artist Workshop Series with dancer and movement artist @yuiugai This workshop is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your body, and explore movement in a supportive and welcoming environment. Through conditioning and contemporary movement, we'll discover how greater body awareness can support creativity, everyday movement, and overall well-being. Whether you're an artist, a freelancer, someone who spends long hours at a desk, or simply looking for a new way to move, you're warmly welcome. No dance experience is required. ✨ Register through the link in our profile. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Since part of the workshop takes place on the floor, you're welcome to bring a yoga mat or towel for extra comfort if you'd like.(Optional) Just want to watch? Observation is also welcome. Japanese language support is available if needed. We hope you'll join us as we move, explore, and reconnect with our bodies together. TJAC Artist Workshop Series 。 #TJAC #YuiUgai #Japan #toronto #dance Yui Ugai is a dance artist and actress from Hiroshima, Japan, based in Toronto, Canada.
これから長く持続可能な形で活動が広がりますように✨ 🎨Celebrating the Launch of the Toronto Japanese Arts Community (TJAC)! It was a pleasure attending the launch event of the newly established TJAC in Toronto. TJAC is a new community created to build a network of art workers and students with connections to Japan who are active in Toronto and across Canada, support one another, encourage more arts professionals to choose Canada as a place to develop their careers, and promote cultural and artistic exchange between Japan and Canada. Consul Ota of the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto also joined us and offered warm remarks to celebrate the launch. The event brought together many talented art workers active in Toronto, and 10 of them gave presentations introducing their respective work and activities. Each presentation was inspiring, and I was captivated by their stories and passion✨ I’ve always felt that science and art have so much in common, including creativity, curiosity, and exploration. As the representative of the Culture & Community Building portfolio of the Japanese New Immigrant Committee (JNIC) of the National Association of Japanese Canadians, I look forward to exploring ways we can collaborate with TJAC and contribute to a vibrant Japanese Canadian community in Toronto💫 We also had the chance to have TJAC representatives join our meeting, where we talked about potential collaborations for future events. Wishing this new community a long and sustainable journey, with many connections and creative collaborations along the way! #TorontoJapaneseArtsCommunity #TJAC #NAJC #JNIC #CommunityBuilding
