What Makes A City? 26-27 June 2026

What an intense, exhausting, but incredibly fruitful week creating this opera with such an amazing team. So grateful to everyone who helped bring these beautiful scenes to life in just one week, truly unforgettable!

Special thanks to @kurisup, our wonderful Musical Director, for all the patience, guidance, and support throughout the process. Huge thanks as well to @toomanydots for writing such amazing (and challenging!!) music, and to @itspersiaamelia for directing and shaping the production so beautifully. (Please take a good rest now!!)

And extra love to my market trader partners @lailabmsinging and ZiHua 🫶 It was such a joy performing alongside you both!

Thank you to all the singers, musicians, creatives, and everyone behind the scenes for making this such a memorable experience. Feeling very lucky to have been part of it ❤️

Sir Bryn Terfel Song Prize 2025

Still getting over the amazing few days I got to spend in Cardiff last week at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Felt incredibly lucky to represent RBC at this inaugural competition/residency with such talented singers from conservatoires across the UK.

Each competitor was asked to sing a set song in Welsh, “Pan ddwar’ nos” by Meirion Williams, and two art songs, one of which celebrated the singers’ culture and language. I thoroughly enjoyed learning “Caoineadh na Máthar dá hIníon” by Anna Pigdorna as Gaeilge and singing one of my favourite songs, John Ireland’s “The Trellis”.

We received welsh coaching from Sir Bryn himself aswell as Caradog Williams who accompanied and coached me throughout the week. We also performed opera arias in masterclasses with Richard Hetherington and Rebecca Evans.

I learned so many invaluable things from this experience and am so grateful to everyone involved in the organizing of this event for looking after us all so well. I’m very glad to have met so many incredible singers that I’m looking forward to running into again. A massive congratulations to David Karapetian for winning the competition with his gorgeous program.❤️

Opera Scenes 2025!!

A fantastic experience to be a part of the Mozart Opera Scenes at LCon this year!

Highlights include: acting as an evil magician ex boyfriend, singing the suicide quartet (with all the right words!!) and trying to play heads up silently during rehearsals.

Thanks to all at @leedsmusicdrama that made this classical-jazz fusion possible!

second year is over!!

it’s crazy to think i only have one year left of my degree as this year has gone so quickly! looking back i’ve definitely pushed myself a lot this year and done things i didn’t think i could’ve done this time last year, and i’ve taken some tough modules that i’ve enjoyed more than expected!!! i’ve also had lots of fun learning/improving at other instruments, and i’ve loved taking part in masterclasses, side by sides, concerts and festivals! it’s also been a very challenging year for me mental health wise, but now it’s over i’m feeling a LOT more optimistic for third year! so happy to have sung so much with my incredible quartet, and i’m looking forward to doing even more fun things next year!!! here’s to another year of searching for cowboy boots during lectures ;)
