Training post coming later, but felt this deserved its own post.

Today's training session was bittersweet, as it was my coach Emily's ( @emleafit ) final day with @strongernowcoaching , and my last training session with her for the time being 😔.

Em & I first met a little under a year ago, after I'd been passed between 2 coaches prior to her. My first experiences with training had been less than ideal, and I was considering quitting after I'd used up my first round of sessions 😵‍💫.

Emily turned all of that around in no time. Within a matter of weeks, I'd gone from being casually interested in exercise to absolutely in love with lifting. She helped me find a new passion I never would have imagined just a couple months prior, and I can't thank her enough for that 🙏🏻.

Over a period of just over 10 months, Emily coached me from practically nothing, to my first 1 plate (135lb/61kg) bench press, my first 2 plate (225lb/102kg) squat, and my first 3 plate (315lb/143kg) deadlift. Not too bad for somebody who could barely lift the bar before 😅.

Though I'm sad to see her go, she's moving on to bigger & better opportunities, and I couldn't be happier for her or more proud of her ❤️. If you're looking for a personal trainer or fitness coaching of any level, I can't recommend her highly enough 💪🏻.

Em, I couldn't have asked for a better coach to guide me through my first year of training, and I'm even luckier to call you one of my very best friends. I have no doubts we'll be working together again in the not-too-distant future 😊.

See you around, and thanks for everything.

Comment “OTW” and I’ll send you the 🔗

I tried a Dad Joke, in the middle of my DJ Set lol. Everyone was looking at me crazzzyyyy 😅 and then they got the joke lol.

This is a clip from OTW Episode 002 - Chicken Shop Party
We took over a @wingstopcanada location in downtown Toronto and turned the whole place into a dancefloor! We even had FREE chicken wings for everyone! But yo, we partied on the subway in Episode 001, then Wingstop for Episode 002!?! Honestly, these events are NOT to be missed!

If you don’t know, OTW is an event series I started with my team to break the monotony of nightlife culture by organizing dope experiences in the most unexpected locations!

Attendance at @otwsound is by invite only. You can be the first to know about the next one + secure your spot by joining the community! Comment “OTW” and I’ll send you the 🔗

Forge April Iron Clash 2025 Meet Recap

Competed in my first powerlifting meet a little under 3 weeks ago. Wasn't expecting to be remotely competitive, but still wanted to get a meet under my belt & set a baseline for future competitions.

Had pretty much a perfect day, hitting more or less all the goals I'd set (bench a little less so). Definitely had another 2.5-5kg on squat, and possibly another 10-15kg on deadlift, but I feel like I squeezed everything out of my bench on the day.

Goals for the day was a 2 red squat (125kg/275.5lb), an 80kg/176lb bench, and a 3 red deadlift (175kg/386lb). Ended up having to pull back a little on bench after how my 2nd attempt moved, but still matched my gym PR in a competition setting, so can't be too upset.

Massive thanks to @emleafit for handling me on the day, and for the years of foundational training/coaching that led up to this. Couldn't have done this without you ❤️.

And thanks to @forgetoronto for putting on an excellent meet. Couldn't have asked for a better environment for a first competition.

Squat:

Attempt 1 - 110kg/242lb ⚪⚪⚪
Attempt 2 - 117.5kg/259lb ⚪⚪⚪
Attempt 3 - 125kg/275.5lb ⚪⚪⚪

Bench:

Attempt 1 - 70kg/154lb ⚪⚪⚪
Attempt 2 - 75kg/165lb ⚪⚪⚪
Attempt 3 - 77.5kg/171lb ⚪⚪⚪

Deadlift:

Attempt 1 - 155kg/342lb ⚪⚪⚪
Attempt 2 - 165kg/364lb ⚪⚪⚪
Attempt 3 - 175kg/386lb ⚪⚪⚪

377.5kg/832lb total

9/9, all ⚪ lights 😎.
