The Fastest Party On The Planet!
This week, I had the incredible opportunity to compete at New Balance Nationals in Philadelphia.
While my races didn't go the way I hoped they would, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world.
One of the most important things my coach has taught me is that no race and no time on the clock defines who you are as a person or as an athlete.
Even knowing that, it still hurt.
It hurt to work so hard for something and run times far below my PRs. It hurt to finish near the back of the field. It hurt because I know what I'm capable of. It hurt because it's so easy to look around and compare yourself to the athletes who ran faster, who hit PRs, and who had the races you dreamed of having.
But somewhere in all that disappointment, I realized something.
When you're so focused on comparing yourself to others, you forget how far you've come. You forget how much you've grown. You forget that all the hard work wasn't for nothing.
Every practice, every workout, every early morning, every hard day—it was building something bigger than a race result. It was helping me become a stronger athlete and an even stronger person.
Not every race ends with a win or a PR. Sometimes the biggest victories come from learning how to keep going when things don't go your way.
You can be disappointed. You can cry. You can feel frustrated.
But you can't let those moments stop you from becoming the best version of yourself.
For me, running has become so much more than just a sport. It has shown me how strong I am, introduced me to an incredible community, and given me experiences I'll never forget.
Being surrounded by so many talented athletes was truly a dream come true. I got the chance to meet and talk with girls I've looked up to for years. And the thing is—they didn't get where they are without struggles. They've all had bad races. They've all faced disappointment. The difference is that they didn't let it stop them.
The running community is truly something special. Even though we're competing against each other, we're also competing against ourselves. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging
