Kinnick and I are still recovering from ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 10⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣, and clearly, her serious face shows she feels the emotional weight of it too! 😿 This might officially be the most difficult and heaviest read of the ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣𝘉𝘰𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ series yet.

Knowing what the previous books speak to, that is saying a lot. Chloe Walsh delivers a story that is dark, heavy, and deeply emotional, but I am so incredibly grateful that Lizzie finally got her story.

⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗶𝗲⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🥹 A dedicated old soul and a girl struggling with her mental health. You go from hating Lizzie in the earlier books to wanting to wrap her in a massive hug and truly cheer for her recovery.

A month late on this review 🫣 but we’re calling it “delayed gratification reading strategy.”

Book two of the Paradise series finally made it off my TBR thanks to @libby.app 📚✨
(And yes, I started with book one back in November for book club… sorry not sorry.)

I’m still fairly new to @elinhilderbrand, but I’m officially getting it now. These are the kind of books that don’t ask much of you, just messy families, buried secrets, and a setting that makes you forget what day it is.

This one drops you right back into the U.S. Virgin Islands, where Irene is still unraveling the aftermath of her husband’s sudden death… and the double life she never saw coming.

It’s beachy, dramatic, a little unhinged, and exactly the escape read I wanted.

Also: it made me want to immediately disappear to the islands 🌴

💭 End-of-day question: who’s your ultimate auto-buy author, the one you’ll pick up no matter what?

☀️ Simba soaking up the weekend sun like the king he is 🐾

This one was both a 26 in 26 pick and my March book club pick. It’s been sitting on my shelf forever (thanks @emilys_booknook_ for the gifted copy over a year ago!! 🫣) and I’m so glad I finally picked it up.

📖 Thoughts:
Started a bit slow for me, but once I kept the characters straight, I was completely hooked, keeping track of all the drama like Simba tracks the sun ☀️🐾.

I’m actually about to start the final book in the series, but let’s rewind to book one…

Not me ignoring this on my shelf for YEARS… 🤯

There’s something about this story that completely pulled me in. I couldn’t stop reading. It’s beautifully written, emotional, and gave me all the feels.

This is one of those books that completely pulls you into a place and makes you feel it.
Like… I could see Alaska the entire time.

It also instantly took me back to the views from my Alaska trip last year—the scenery, the atmosphere, all of it felt so vivid. 🏔️✨

I tried to do 12 “maybe next year” books in 2024 and only got through 9 of them, whoops.🙈 At an attempt to help read my own shelves I’m trying again in 2025, picking 25 physical books that are 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 on my shelves and at the top of my TBR list. I’m hoping I can be intentional in my reading, as I was more intentional in these selections than I was last year.

Most of these were gifted to me in November or December, but a few have been on my shelf far too long to admit 🙈 I’m excited for this lineup, especially after seeing so many of these make your top ten lists of 2024.

👀 Creepy book alert 👀

I picked up this book after seeing amazing reviews from some of you guys and let me tell you, you did NOT disappoint 🔥

I’m not going to say much of the story, as I think you should go in blind. I was confused the entire time and still not sure a week later if I understand what actually happened. To me, if a book has you thinking about it a week later, they did something right!

Plus, this is nominated for some goodreads awards this year AND is supposed to be made into a Netflix movie staring Blake Lively.
