We found ’em. We loved ’em. Now we’re putting y’all on. 🤎

Six Black vocalists who caught our attention and made us want to hear MORE. Some went straight to the playlist. Some had us wondering where they’ve been hiding. All six deserve a listen.

Consider yourself put on. 🎧

Save this one for your next listening session.

⭐ ARTIST SPOTLIGHTS! ⭐

From now until opening, we’ll be highlighting different artists featured in the exhibit. Today, we’re introducing you to Emma, Daniel, and Loren!

Meet Emma Claye! She is a New York City based actress, singer, and songwriter. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and Yale University. As an actress, Emma trained at Oxford University, Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and Upright Citizens Brigade and has been seen on Harlem and Blue Bloods, as well as campaigns for Imperfect Foods, Blue Apron, and Maybelline New York. Emma also previously toured as a cast member of Hamilton throughout the US and Canada. Her most recent singles, "No Food No Man No Water” and “11:11”, are available on all streaming platforms.

Meet Daniel Flahiff! He is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker based in New York City. He holds an MFA in painting from Art Center College of Design, where he studied under Mike Kelley, Stephen Prina, and Jeremy Gilbert-Rolfe. Over 20 years, he has worked as a creative director and film/video director, earning Telly Awards and Best Documentary at the Oregon Documentary Film Festival for "Dad Bod." His exhibition history spans the US, Europe, Australia, and Scandinavia. He has taught college-level art and design and is currently a cohort member of the Moshava Artist Residency in Greenwich Village.

Meet Loren Aymer! “I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago, the two southernmost islands in the Caribbean chain. I migrated to the United States in 2000 after a positive opportunity opened up, and I decided to take it. My journey here has been a rollercoaster of trials and tribulations—but by the grace of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I am still standing. My creative skills are a blessing from my Heavenly Father. As a child in Trinidad, I engaged in arts and crafts; as I grew, that love became a passion. Art is therapeutic for me—I transfer emotion onto canvases, sculptures, and crafts to tell stories about my life and others', leaving my audience to wonder, understand, and connect.”

See these artists and more August 28-29!

Thank you so much @citylove.nyc @harlemsummernights for having me. Not even gonna lie I was nervous AF for this performance! I wasn't able to rehearse due to my work schedule so I didn't know how the music would sound and not to mention the amazing performances by the other artists that I was on the bill with that blew me away! The band was eclectic, the host was amazing and the crowd man the crowd. I'm beyond grateful for such an amazing opportunity 🙏🏿 thank you again
