Austin has two bonds on the 2026 ballot, for parks and libraries. And to understand how much these bonds can do, here are a few things past bonds have already made possible. 🌳

🌳 Improvements at Edward Rendon Sr. Park at Festival Beach 🌳 Kicked off the creation of Colony Park District Park, and fully funded its new pool 🌳 Funded Treviño Park, with construction set to start this fall 🌳 Saved the Barton Creek Greenbelt from development 🌳 Built our iconic downtown Central Library

From trails to neighborhood parks to libraries, these places exist because Austinites voted to invest in them. And when it comes to land and green space, we have to take the opportunity when we can, because once it’s gone, it’s gone.

The 2026 bonds are the next chapter. Vote YES on Prop A this November. 🌱

Join us for an in-person community workshop focused on the strengths, wisdom, and healing practices already living in our community. This workshop draws from Chicana/o/x Psychology to challenge and decolonize ideas of “wellness” that often leave our people out.

Together, we’ll examine how culturally rooted practices and ancestral wisdom help decolonize dominant models of “wellness” that often exclude Chicanx communities. Participants will reflect on cultural strengths that support mental health while challenging harmful stereotypes that portray Chicana/o/x culture as unhealthy.

🚨 BREAKING BAKERY NEWS 🚨

About 69 minutes ago (nice) @cicciobombaatx officially opened their flagship location at 1100 S Lamar 📍

They were welcomed to the neighborhood by a large group of hungry South Austinites 🫶

This is their first location that isn’t downtown - it’s absolutely gorgeous - it’s thoughtfully designed - it’s got a full bar and will be open until 7pm - they have indoor & outdoor dining AND they offer “grab & go” or “dine in” 🤟

This is their biggest location and their first time offering “dine in” - given they’ve been open for all of (what is now) 72 minutes - I’d come in with a little patience for their team as they tackle all of their new adventures.

@seguratom & @chefgianbavinzoni have done an excellent job with this space and every time I try a new dish here, my expectations are exceeded. It’s fun learning all of the Italian lingo after spending so much time figuring out what these Mexican dishes around me are 😂

🔥 @casabiancaatx 🔥

Apparently Tuesday night is CHICKEN PARM NIGHT in Austin 🤠 and I’m not mad about it

Now, to be clear, Casa Bianca has been doing Tuesday night Chicken Parm for 4-5 months - our friends at @murrays.tavern added to this Tuesday tradition by offering their own version ❤️

While they both offer Chicken Parm - they completely different dishes. And I love them both 😂

*lemme get way too serious real quick*

• both are Tuesday night specials
• both are $25
• both come with wine / champ specials

BUT similarities end there

Murray’s has a more traditional noodle, with a heavy butter and garlic coating - while Casa has angel hair with olive oil and microplane cheese on top, it’s lighter and more subtle / restrained

Murray’s sauce is a spicy vodka sauce, it’s slightly creamy with a great kick - whereas Casa is more tomato forward almost leaning chipotle territory. Dark and Smokey.

Casa’s cutlet is THICK AND JUICY where Murray’s was beaten like a drum thin and super crispy. Again. Both great but they were very different versions of the same dish.

Casa also offers some really high end starts that I had to get and am happy to suggest;

• spicy blue fin tuna cannolis
• scallop / apple crudo
• wings - top 5 wing in Austin - hands down

All that to say, if you’re looking for a reason to try @casabiancaatx - this post should convince ya
