What an honour it was to cover the UN General Assembly, one of the biggest global policy gatherings in the world, alongside journalists I have admired for years.
I’m grateful for every long hour, every rush between speeches, every last-minute change, and every moment spent trying to turn what was being said at those podiums into journalism people around the world could actually follow and understand.
There was one sentence I kept repeating to my colleagues throughout the deployment:
“I can’t believe a kid who grew up in a small village in the occupied West Bank ended up here.”
And I really meant it every single time, I know what it took to get here.
Proud of this one and grateful for the people I got to work alongside. And even more excited for what comes next.
