Teaching dance fitness, I used to be worried of what other people would think having me- in a plus size body- as the instructor. I got over that thankfully but I feel as if it’s something a lot of people struggle with when attending a class or trying to start at the gym. But there is no all size fits all shape or size for fitness- it’s literally for EVERYONE! If you’re nervous to try a class, I get it- doing something new is scary and you may be worried of how people will judge you. But I promise no one is watching or judging you- and if they are then 👋 to those miserable humans. If you’re looking for a no-judgement and welcoming class, I have classes Mondays and Thursdays 630pm if you’re local in Florida- or you can catch me anytime virtually @empowered.fitt But get your body moving in a way that feels good and not like fucking medieval torture- that is how it becomes a lifestyle💜 • • • • • #confidence #selfworth #selflove #loveyourself #selfesteem #bodypositivity #plusisequal #selfconfidence #empowerment #courage #confident #plussize #effyourbeautystandards #fullfigured

Bodies that look like this, also look like this. Curves, cellulite, some rolls…. That doesn’t mean your body is not strong, not beautiful, not worthy. No baby, it’s a celebration of your unique body and its beautiful imperfections. Moving your body is a gift, it’s not a punishment. Our sole purpose is not to shrink our bodies, in my humble opinion it is to celebrate the amazing things our bodies can do- that’s the beauty, that’s the sexiness. So your body doesn’t look like that fitness influencer, maybe it doesn’t look like it did 5 years ago, or 15 years ago…… It’s still a fu$king masterpiece and deserves to be treated accordingly🩷 • • • • • #bodylove #bodyacceptance #bodyconfidence #bodyposi #bodyimage #bodypositive #bodypositivity #effyourbeautystandards #bopo #loveyourbody #honormycurves #selflove

There is nothing more beautiful than a woman who is unapologetically herself. A woman who gets out of her comfort zone. A woman who trusts herself. Whew. All I can say is that I am forever grateful for dance fitness. It’s changed my life in the most amazing ways. It’s grown my confidence and I’d like to say that by me showing up and putting myself out there, it’s allowed others the space to do the same. Tonight we had our first more hip hop style dance fitness class and I mirrored it after sass- the class that is me and grew me in so many ways. I was so nervous, not sure if people would show up, if they’d like it and have fun, if my knees could still hang… and it turns out I had nothing to be nervous about. These woman showed up and showed out! And my knees can in fact still hang🤣 Grateful doesn’t seem like a strong enough sentiment, but it will have to do. I’m so grateful for these women, these new friends and @radacademydance for giving me the space to share something I love so much and for making my new home here in Florida feel so welcoming. Put yourself out there and amazing things will come to you 🤍

The journey to wellness, fitness, self love and confidence are all that…. A JOURNEY. My journey has ebbed and flowed, some days it swings on the high side abs others and the low. At the end of the day, you have to be okay with being perfectly imperfect. Knowing that some people are going to love you for it, and others may not; but at the end of the day you love yourself. Some days I feel wildly confident, and others wildly insecure but what’s different now on those more insecure days is that I know it’s just a fleeting moment. I am secure in who I am to know I’m perfectly imperfect just as I am and it’s just a low day. Nothing is wrong with me, it’s just thoughts in my brain I can choose not to believe. I think of this more often that I thought I would as a dance fitness and yoga instructor. When I walk into the room at the front I used to be so concerned about what these people thought of me, in my body, as the instructor. Now I can stand there proudly knowing it’s almost a reassurance to people who’s bodies aren’t the stereotypical shape that you can still honor your body and your health and it not be about the dashes way to shrink your body! Keeping those thoughts at bay can be hard so here are 3 tips if you’re feeling a little less confident: 1. Repeat positive body affirmations- “I am grateful for my strong body” “I love and care for this amazing body” or any other favorite. 2. Stop assuming what people are thinking of you because most likely YOU’RE WRONG! We project our insecurities when most of the time people aren’t thinking any of that mess! 3. Show up for yourself because you’re deserving, you’re worthy and your body deserves it. Remind yourself it’s about feeling good- not punishment or shrinking your body! 🩷🩷🩷 • • • • • #bodylove #bodyacceptance #bodyconfidence #bodyposi #bodyimage #bodypositive #bodypositivity #effyourbeautystandards #bopo #loveyourbody #honormycurves #selflove
