Folks. My lovely girlfriend Erin Boyt is producing this killer show, pairing dancers to poets for an evening in December (the 13th) at Dekum Street Theater in Portland. She is doing some fundraising for the event to pay the performers. I am offering a unique typewriter poem for donors and I will be emcee for the event. UPDATE: this event is cancelled for the time being! Reach out if you want to schedule a session to explore this 1:1. It is illuminating and super fun! … What?! “Sidedness,” or laterality, is a thing humans are basically born with. You’re a righty, you’re a lefty. And life happens. We do things and wonder why one leg favors this and one shoulder does that, but their opposites don’t. Craniosacral therapist, movement teacher and dancer Erin Boyt - @enboyt and I decided it would be cool to share some of what we have learned about laterality patterns and principles through a few super basic exercises and movement patterns - think lower body and upper body push and pull, with…numerous twists. 😉 Whatever your exercise specialty or sport, you may find some novel ways to experience and coach the basics and provide strategies to address side differences that don’t start with the faulty premise that they should be the same. We started off with some technical difficulties but navigated them with grace and humor 😉 What a lovely way to come together as humans on this platform that can often feel very de-humanizing. Listen to the replay to get a refreshing break from scrolling and get pumped up about all sorts of topics from taking time to rest to issues with our education system. Catch us again next week on Erin’s page @enboyt for another fun conversation. Who knows what we’ll talk about next? 😁 ~Cristina 💜
