@enchantedsacks Pantector in action :)

These are really comfortable and so practical! No more chain grease, no more pant leg getting caught in the chain.

I often get home after riding my bike and don’t realise for like an hour that I still have this strapped to my ankle.

Just a couple of these left in the shop so if you’ve been thinking about grabbing one, now’s the time!

On our latest hiking journey with @klattermusen Berlin, we decided we wanted to do something special.

The hike started off with a climb up one of the few hills surrounding Berlin to catch a little elevation and fresh air before winding our way down through the forest.
We foraged for wild berries and plums and ended up lost before being enchanted through an auditory experience by the elusive @enchantedsacks

We stumbled across some horses and mules and some of us even got to hand feed them apples before our hike eventually ended and we parted ways.

If this seems like a way you want to spend your Sunday, make sure to follow along because we have more planned before the year is over.

Got hired by @velocrushzurich as their Intern (unpaid) this weekend for @bespoked.cc to provide the skills of admiring bikes and small bags, holding things when people have their hands full, making breakfast once, and providing medical advice for a bruise. Here are some things we liked.

It has been a week since I came back from my adventure and I’ve been struggling to find my dimension again in my old routine.

It feels like something is missing, a sense of aliveness that I don’t seem to be able to recreate in my day to day. When you are bikepacking, most of your energy goes into what to eat, where to sleep, how the weather is, how your body feels. Everything is focused on the now. While if I think about my daily life, I realize that I’m often somewhere in the future or the past.

I think what I miss most about my trip is not the adventure itself, but rather this sense of immediacy. And this is something I want to find a way to bring into my daily life.

Our journey started in Ulaanbaatar and took us north, all the way to Lake Khuvsgul.

We cycled through the steppe, desolate landscapes, kilometers and kilometers of green, rolling hills. No humans in sight, no concrete buildings, no private property. Just us, our bikes, and the occasional families looking after their animals.

We crossed a couple of towns along the way, where we stopped in search of showers and warm meals. We reached Lake Khuvsgul on the 19th of August, where we spent a couple of days contemplating the majesty of this enormous body of water stretching north toward Siberia.

Multiple times during our journey, I felt a strange mixture of uneasiness and ecstasy. There was something almost overwhelming about having this vastness entirely to ourselves, while realizing that for some people this is simply daily life. In that silence, surrounded by a landscape that seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction, I felt both incredibly small and completely present.

On the 21st of August, we got into a car back to Ulaanbaatar. Thirteen hours driving back along some of the same roads where our journey had begun. Our return to our own reality.

There is something strange about returning. We drove back on the same roads where, only a couple of weeks before, everything was still unknown to us. The landscape was the same, but we weren’t. And maybe that’s what I find so fascinating about coming back: you think you are returning to where you started, but there is no real way of going back.

I don’t think I’m returning as the same person who left. In fact, I believe that every return is only an illusion. We come back to the same places, but never as the same people.

I have been thinking about championships this year. It’s been 10 years since I stumbled into my first messenger championships in Copenhagen and Paris, feeling perhaps the most shy I’ve ever felt.

I helped organise the European Messenger Championship @ecmc2026 this year in Berlin along with a team of around 15 people. And in the run-up, somewhere between schlepping boxes, thinking about everything that’s changed in the last 10 years, riding around feeling magic thinking about everyone soon to descend onto Berlin, there was also time for a happy cry in the kitchen. The championship itself is a blur of busyness to the point I can barely remember half the faces I saw, but going to other championships since it has had a certain extra sweetness.

I find myself looking at old championship photos and realising that I now know more faces in the photos than when I took them. How all these little trips have helped pad out and colour in all the details of these old photos.

The way I experience community and feel friendship has changed, my understanding of the effort that we put into things, the value of building things, my understanding of love, and how I hold people a little tighter in my heart when we say see you soon. It cannot all come from championships but it has definitely been changed by them. What an honour.

A few impressions from our Mongolian expedition.

While I’m writing this post, I find myself in bed fighting off a cold. The first 10 days have been rich in so many ways. Rich in smells, flavors, challenges, laughs, sweat, and, for sure, emotions.

We have traveled through some very remote places, crossing the steppe and passing through tiny villages. Almost every person we met welcomed us with a smile and a snack. Children in particular would light up as soon as they saw us and come over to offer us whatever they had.

We are the attraction of the day: these white European strangers arriving on two wheels, our faces covered with masks, dusty legs, and shiny helmets.

I don’t think I have ever experienced so much hospitality. People who have far less than we do, sharing their precious food with us - complete strangers - without expecting anything in return.

And the more I get to know these people, the more I realize that they have way more than we can possibly buy: a strong sense of community and belonging, and a way of sharing what you have, even when what you have is very little.

These first 10 days have been hard at times. They have been dusty, sweaty, sometimes uncomfortable, and unpredictable. But they have also reminded me how little we actually need, and how rich an encounter between strangers can be.

Mongolia, so far, has given me much more than I expected.

Rune Rufus Stone ATB gravel touring ripper.

Thought it was about time I got some nice pics of this whip. Took a sec to get it to this form - now it’s ready to be loaded for our Euro tour starting next week. Couldn’t be happier with the overall feel and aesthetic of this beast - proper fun - proper nimble. Plus the full frame bag from @enchantedsacks tied the pallete together nicely.

Was a big impulse build when it started, I’d been ogling these rune builds for a few years and proper wanted the yellow one. I saw Ash had a used frame set in my size on sale so went for it. Never thought I’d be into a black bike and when I bought it was set on stripping it in the first few months, but I think I’ll leave that for now. Probs won’t change much until I add some fenders come autumn.

Parts for those interested:
Hilt bars in large probs too big for me but I can fit a full Carradice upfront - priorities 😏
