This is why I’ve been absent from social media & creating for the last few months.
On top of being an artist with a day job & side hustle, I’ve been a member of @thehatchsunyjcc Hatchling Entrepreneurship Program, an 8 week crash course on business from startup to succession.
Like a self fulfilling prophecy, when I interviewed for The Hatch Cafe I closed with saying I wasn’t above taking a barista position & hoped to possibly be a Hatchling one day. Well, I’m a barista at The Hatch & a hatchling.
Seeing Zipper Ghost on this certificate is so validating to this old punk doing things above board (finally). I’m entering the weekend feeling tired & ready for the introspective time of winter to focus on the future plans.
My brain is fried & right about now I would be telling my dad about finishing the program & receiving this certificate & he’d smile and say “go Meghan!”, so I’ll close with saying how proud I am with myself and thank you, the followers & supporters of Zipper Ghost.

International women’s day and here at fourth world we have our very own amazing specimen.

@endlessmeghan

@fourthworldindustrialarts could not exist if it wasn’t for the hard work of this amazing woman. Her office may only resemble a diner that somebody dumped into a hole and soaked with a garden hose but she works hard for it!

She studies non stop to learn the ways of pattern grading and clothing construction. She has a great eye for color and isn’t afraid to make a buck. She works remotely as licensing manager and handles both of the companies large instagram accounts while juggling the management of our online clothing sales and it’s shipping. She makes sure I don’t over spend on tools and supplies while, look how happy she is in her soon to be office. Amazing.

Happy international woman’s day to part owner and some form of manager down here at the 4th world project and a big thank you!

Happy Love Day from Casa De Grassa! 💘💌 my Mama Lynn @lynngrealestate used to send the most ridiculous care packages to me on Valentine’s Day, usually with a pair of embarrassing underwear to be worn only one day a year. Reminiscing of opening night… gonna be late to work now because my heads in the clouds ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

Five days ago we ripped the brown paper off the store front windows and opened up our space to old friends, collectors, performers, and new- curious- wide eyed faces.

We shared our floor with vintage collectors, @waretowearresale @endlessmeghan @blk_citizensbrigade @staplevintage, who also curated a collection of vintage and handmade outfits which were shown off to our lively crowd of guests. The work and dedication they put into their collections was apparent and I can’t thank them enough for being a part of the “Anti- Fast Fashion” fashion show to jumpstart the weekend.

We had beautiful burlesque performers @missrubysparkles and @jess_in_a_sack oooh and ahhh the crowd, as well. We will be sure to invite the @sirensandstilettoscabaret back to our space to perform again.

My dear friend @drhamburgerz killed it with the tunes! People (old and young) were cutting up all kinds of rugs.

A big shoutout is in order to @blue_moon_vintage_bus @thecrumpetlady @thecookiecoma and Acadia for setting up outside/staying open late for the party! Thank you!!!

I was so lost in the moment- I didn’t capture many photos/videos… so everything you see in this post was shared with me. If you have anything to share, please send it my way 😊

Returning home after this weekend was like when I returned from the Salton Sea for the first time. Life changing. Here I sit, a designer, with my models after the fashion show Friday night. I made their jackets (dyed, sewn, partially designed) and the fantastic skirt Frankie is wearing that was made from a curtain and the jodhpurs and camos were fresh from the @afterhoursdropbox inventory.
I love these photos, I feel like we’re The Lizzie’s in The Warriors.
Anyway, more photos to follow, but I must put out a bottomless thank you to Monika @littleshop_of_hoarders for hosting the fashion show / event / weekend and my beautiful amazing models who were the first people to ever wear pieces I made. I cannot properly express what an honor it has been to have you all wear my clothing / curated vintage pieces. I feel like Angus Bethune at the end of Angus when he says “I finally had my moment, I think I’ll have another.”
I’m going to sleep like 12 hours tonight (Spike is already asleep), then get up to start designing the next run.
(Also shoutout to my amazing partner who supported my exhausted fits, creative blocks, and machine woes while creating his own pieces; he also took these photos… @barnhog )
