native plant fiends unite! in one week we gather upon our beloved @californiabotanicgarden for an evening of music, merriment, and loving on our bioregion.

thee @zachtenorio (!!) has arranged a band of all stars featuring @dharringtone @aaronsteele_damn @spencerzahn *AND* after a field trip this spring our @solarcbrewing family has conjured up two new bevvies in steeped relationship with coyote mint, yerba santa, jade carpet black sage, bay laurel, and several more of our sweet plant friends.

find us in the forest pavilion, surrounded by majestic oaks and fragrant pitcher sage, for a very special evening in the garden among our more than human friends.

we love to say it, so we’ll say it again: CBG is the largest garden devoted to the conservation, preservation, exploration, and education of california native ecology. you’ll find plants here that you may never see out in the world, or would really need to know where to drive and hike, and it’s such a gift to learn about all that they do whether it’s seed banking, all ages education, and all things research based. thank you for being such a caring collaborator and we’ll see you on the 20th! 🌿

five years ago today w @jeremiahchiu @dustin_clarence_h_wong & @yialmelicfrequencies at @storrierstearns on 8/8 !!

infinite love for this journey, this education, this community and family. thank you for seeing and participating in this organism, thru eternal iterations and collective dreaming of what can be.

this was gathering number one, and while worlds both micro and macro have shed and regrown many times over since this moment, we’ve been loving on los angeles together thru stories of art and ecology, of lands and peoples, nearly every single weekend since.

I’m hard-pressed to think of another recent group of opening artists that I find quite as inspiring as the trio of acts we’ve assembled for these upcoming EXTRA MILE dates.

Barry Archie Johnson - who will be opening San Diego and Los Angeles - is a wonderful young fingerstyle guitarist whose album “Fortune’s Mirror” I’ve found myself returning to again and again over the past years.

James Elkington is a tremendous guitarist and composer (and lyricist! though he’ll be playing instrumental music at our Chicago show) whose albums I’ve admired for quite some time.

And NYC’s SUSS are ambient-country wizards who are going to transport Music Hall of Williamsburg audiences to some distant realm that I hope they come back to in time to absorb some of our set.

Like I’ve said, these four shows are the only shows for EXTRA MILE that I have on the books. Full band, chock full of the Will Sheff stuff, I feel very proud to present these songs. See us now or see us who knows when!
