Keep encouraging. Keep advocating. Keep cheerleading and coaching. Let’s hold each other accountable and celebrate that person the hardest when they reach that goal or milestone. We should all continue to have our circle’s back and keep showing up for one another. It helps keep our community strong. “I Just Need a Minute.” Available on Amazon. God bless and keep pushing!

Do people always come to you for advice? Are you the level headed one that calms the room? Do strangers just tell you their story out of nowhere? It’s something about you that draws and relaxes others. Thank you for being that encouragement, support, of soothing presence. Thank you for that listening ear and desire to see a better outcome. Many of you truly have a gift. Pay yourself back by continuing to work on these skills and your own wellbeing. “I Just Need a Minute.” Available on Amazon. God bless and keep pushing!

Iota Phi Theta was always the best choice for me ( and yes I had options).

I chose Iota because in my fraternity I learned how to be a powerful BLACK man, unpolitically myself and my leadership is valued. Iota remains in the business of change and I am so glad that so many paved the way for me and my line brothers to join via Psi Chapter in the fall of 2012.

Happy Founders Day to all my Brown and Gold brothers! Keep being different, and know that those who don’t understand won’t ever get it because while some are being Greek we are being BLACK! ✊🏾

When people from your past pop up and say that you’ve helped them in some way (inspiration, encouragement, monetarily) it does something for your soul. I know it’s helped me to stay grateful and on that path. Thank you to those who have been instrumental in so many facets of my life. Because of your kindness and generosity, I can turn and give that same energy to someone who needs it.

Classroom Climate Tip
Stop calling the main office❗️
You are the manager of your classroom and you set the tone.
When you send your challenging scholar to the office, you take away your control!

Having the get up and go to get after it is hard some days. The right accountability partner or team helps but when you don’t have that, you have to dig deep to create your lane. Let’s get up and move towards the goals, or plans you set. “I Just Need a Minute.” Available on Amazon. God bless and keep pushing!

This summer was really about sacrifice! That comprehensive exam was no joke but in the end I came out victorious. I’m no longer a doctoral student I am a doctoral CANDIDATE!

One step closer to that PhD!
