Developed through a collaboration between Art Studio Kuwait, ENGN, and Kelli Glancey.

Mural — Caravan A Moving Community
Wednesday January 16th 2025
Morning 9 to 12pm and Afternoon 2 to 5 PM

Caravans move because people carry what matters.
A caravan is not one person or one story — it is many humans traveling together, sharing resources, ideas, protection, shelter, and imagination.
This mural invites students in Kuwait to explore Caravan as a metaphor for:
belonging
mutual support
movement toward possibility
cultural memory
the “Oasis” we create for one another

Collagraphs in the Age of AI: Time, Labor, and Human Presence
Wednesday January 14th 2025
Morning 9 to 12pm and Afternoon 2 to 5 PM

This 2-session course (2 × 3 hours) asks participants to use collagraph printmaking with found materials as a means of resisting AI’s slick speed and predictive systems. Through slow, tactile processes, students will create imagery that foregrounds human time, bodily labor, and perceptual nuance. The course reframes “error,” “imprecision,” and “duration” as radical values—making presence the medium itself.
This workshop will address the contemporary art theme of making art politically which is not about making political art.

Silkscreen Monoprint: Improvisational Dreamy Delights
Thursday January 8th 2025
Morning 9 to 12pm and Afternoon 2 to 5 PM

This 2-session Silkscreen course (2 × 3 hours) invites participants to embrace the organic results of Silkscreen Monoprints. Drawing, painting, and hand-printing directly on and through an open stencil exposed on a silkscreen will result in emotive, improvisational works on paper. In the Age of AI, this workshop encourages participants to let go of step-by-step perfection. Experiential hybrid printing of drawing and painting from screen to paper will be the emphasis of this workshop.
