Congratulations to Environmental Science and Studies major Sydney Bosley for receiving the 2025 CSH Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award! 🎉👏

Sydney's research journey began her freshman year when she joined Dr. Jess Vogt's Lab for Urban Forestry in the Anthropocene (LUFA). She has since received multiple undergraduate research grants to work on projects related to community urban forestry.

Her recently completed thesis looks at the survival of new parkway trees planted by the city of Chicago under a metropolitan initiative known as “Our Roots," where she collected data on more than 1,200 trees! She hopes to publish her findings this summer.

Best of luck to Sydney and cheers on her achievement!
