A little pile of dust suspended in the light beam of @experienceform and @arcosanti_arizona . Came for the music, stayed because our U-Haul was stuck in the mud😂

An ode to the tenderness, architecture, and the several tents that achieved flight.

Beautiful epic weekend with @envelopsound at @experienceform 🟠 Thank you all for the love! ❤️ Blessed to work with this amazing team and community! 🙏🏻

Gorgeous lighting design and DJ set with @newnostalgia_org , incredible @mcslee sunset sets, and @tychomusic sharing new album drafts and remixes 🫶🏻 @erasedtapesrecords , @ghostly and @sevwave listening sessions were so inspiring.

Nature had other plans so Sunday was cancelled, but we braved the storm and dug out of the mud to get home safe. 🙏🏻

Another performance and installation with Envelop is coming up soon 11/6 with KQED in Oakland 📡

FORM ARCOSANTI! 🌞🎉🛸🏜️⛈️🌈⛺️🫶🏼💖❤️‍🔥

How do I even begin to put into words how magical and special my experiences were @experienceform @arcosanti_arizona ?!

I’ll bring it back to 2012 when I designed a poster for @hundredwaters show at Glasslands, the beloved music & art space I used to work at. I was honored and upon listening to their music, absolutely captivated. I’d never heard anything like it. The show was something truly special. They brought a crew called The Church of Holy Colors to deck out our space with tons of little pieces of fabric and it was nothing short of spectacular. The vibes were high!! It stood out among the many epic shows in that space.

Flash forward to 2016, my friend sent me a link to FORM Arcosanti fest and said, “this looks like something you’d be into.” Boy was she on the nose! Back then you needed to apply to be accepted to attend FORM because Arcosanti is a sacred place that can’t fit too many humans. I reached out to @zach.tet of Hundred Waters who I worked on the poster with, founder of this fest and told him I’d love to come! That year I went to my first FORM and have attended every one since ✨

This year was my 6th time at Arcosanti for another incredible lineup of phenomenal musicians spanning genres from all over the world. We ascended with @kamasiwashington and @nourishedbytime_ 💖 We danced into the night and literally in the rain with @avalon9000 @disclosure @ben___ufo. I sang along with @lorde and coveted her laser beam jacket as she belted out Royals! I relaxed and took in the stunning Arizona canyon views as @tychomusic and @willits bathed us in dreamy atmospheric sounds in the @envelopsound setup, which this year was in a groovy new spot below the cafe, an area I’ve loved hanging in year after year.

We drove in to Arcosanti and set up camp on red earth that Friday. “WOW, a V Dubb with an Aphex Twin sticker?! Are you the coolest girls at this festival?!” Our would become new bestie @has__ben observed as he greeted us from his camp nextdoor. @haydenhearsawho offered us homemade gumbo multiple times, which I’m honored to have tried Sat while holding it down at camp before the rain came. Cont’d in comments 🥰

Simulated Milky Way in Arcosanti, AZ for @experienceform @envelopsound

Anticipating the rain, we displayed simple forms of laser light over the valley mixing with haze to simulate a galaxy of stars. Follow for more full documentation 🌌

My favorite part of every FORM is walking around @arcosanti_arizona watching people connect with this place, the land, and one another. The hope of our program is that different ways of participating open new doors to discovery, and that our shared memories keep us connected long beyond the festival. Through music, art, conversations with strangers, looking at stars, sharing meals, listening and stillness, making things, getting wild on the “dance floor” and even overcoming challenges together, we emerge with a greater feeling of interconnectedness. It’s the perfectly imperfect parts where the magic lives. Thank you @experienceform community. You continue to restore my faith in people, and you make me want to be a better person too. Thank you @zach.tet @mikefeinberg and @alexbhoffman for creating this baby and letting me help raise it, @el_hud/@findcontext for helping make the art and activities program so meaningful this year, @thelibraryofesoterica and @thunderwingstudio for your beautiful intention and vision, @envelopsound for making an unforgettable sound sanctuary in a weird little cave, @david.sikorski for making the hi-fi listening cafe such a cool cozy vibe even through a rainstorm, @phxgeneral for curating the best shop filled with local treasures year over year. And of course endless gratitude goes to @pour_amor_ @mediocrejasper @thenoiseacademy.prdctn @kenzieovenell @twinflameproductions.co @badasskath @esp.pdf @baskinrobyn @gently__used @earthen_em @evansglamourshots @stouttent @soteriaspace, our small but mighty art department who deserve their own post entirely, @shifthappensvolunteers and all who make this ambitious undertaking a safe and supported place where anything is possible. FORM fam forever.

@tychomusic s SandDune! 😍 It’s not really the name probably, but I will always call it that. Loooove this song!!! On Next album, I can hardly wait! Sorry it’s shaky, this song turns me into a bobble head.😂

A few more from an awesome few days volunteering and participating in @experienceform. I’ve already shared how special this event is, but I think there is one lasting impression I’ve yet to put into words:

I didn’t have a single negative interaction at FORM. Every staff member, fellow volunteer, Arcosanti resident, artist crew and entourage, artist, vendor, and attendee that I interacted with was pleasant, kind, patient, open, and in a good mood. What an incredible testament to building a space and an experience unlike others in the festival world. Bravo to the incredible people behind @experienceform and thank you to @shifthappensvolunteers for bringing us here and always keeping the vibes high. 👏👏
