From the studio to the big screen! 🎬🕷️ Tonight, I’ll be joining the SYNC Decoded: Part 1 panel to share my journey in music production and my experience having my work featured in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Looking forward to sharing some insight, connecting with fellow creatives, and continuing to grow in the world of sync licensing. Special thanks to @peopleplacesthingsmiami , @eqmusicsummit , and @thelattelawyer for the love, support, and opportunity! 🙏🏽 The journey continues. 🎶🌎 #RickDiezel #SyncLicensing #SpiderVerse #MusicIndustry #MiamiMusic

Happy Monday Miami! Here’s our curated list of events for Monday, October 19 through Wednesday, October 21. III Points wrapped, and the city goes straight into Latin Billboard Awards week with no breather. The awards are fun to watch, and most of the names up there got there with streaming numbers a bot farm could have run up overnight. We care more about the local creatives here who are trying to turn real talent into real money. That’s why we’re hosting EQ tomorrow, where we’re breaking down sync licensing and how getting your music into film, TV, and ads actually pays. Comment EQ and we’ll send you the RSVP link. We’ve also got a giveaway running for Pangea Sound at ZeyZey this Wednesday. Keep an eye on our stories this week for how to enter. Got an event you want us to cover? Comment 🟦 and we’ll send you the submission form. We love you Miami 🧡 🎶: @r_v_calypso - Shark Delay

Happy Monday Miami! Here’s our curated list of events for Monday, September 21 through Wednesday, September 23. EQ is back at Ampersand Studios this Tuesday, September 22, 6 to 10 p.m., and this is the one to clear your calendar for. EQ is our monthly music industry summit, built to give Miami’s artists the access their talent already earned. No. 3 is all about EPKs, why they matter, what actually belongs in one, and then the room breaks down real EPKs together and gives honest feedback. Professional headshots from 3.2.Juan Flash Studios run the first 90 minutes, shot for you to use in your own kit, with designers in the room to help you bring your vision to life. The night closes with The Demo Room, where an artist plays an unreleased track for the full room and gets real notes on it. Drinks courtesy of Salsi and Topo Chico. Space is limited and we’re keeping it that way, so lock your spot before we close the list. Comment EQ and we’ll send you the RSVP. Got an event coming up? Want to get it in front of Miami’s most engaged audience? Drop a 🟦 and we’ll DM you our event submission form. Submit 72 hours before your event for consideration. We love you Miami. See you Tuesday. 🧡 🎶: @soulpaxmusic - Dancing Alone

Nobody books you off a link to your SoundCloud. They ask for a press kit, and most artists either don't have one or have one that's quietly costing them work. EQ No. 3 is where you fix that. EQ is our monthly music industry summit. One night a month we put Miami's artists, producers, engineers, and DJs in the same room as the people who can move a career. It exists to give Miami's artists the access their talent already earned. 📅 Tuesday, September 22. 🕕 6 to 10PM. 📍Ampersand Studios. 🎟️ Free. Limited Capacity. Come at 6 for a free professional headshot by @3.2.juanflashstudios, so you walk out with a shot you can actually use. Then Miami designers who build EPKs for a living show you what belongs in your press kit and what's bloat. The Demo Room is back too: play a minute of something unreleased, get honest feedback, and maybe hear a DJ in the room say they'll play it out. Designers, are welcome to come through too. The artists here are your next clients, and if you’ve ever wanted to learn how a kit gets built, you'll see it live. Dress code: come as your next cover. You're getting a headshot, so show up as the version of you that belongs on the release. We'll have Salsi on site, a sparkling agave cocktail made by locals as a love letter to Miami, plus Topo Chico. The room is capped and everyone in it works in music, so everyone you meet is building something too. Comment EQ and we'll send you the link to RSVP.

Before you sign anything, know what you actually want from your music. Entertainment attorney Somara Jacques opened her workshop at EQ with the first question every artist should answer. There are really only three things you can do with your music: • Own it and keep it.
 • Give a song away for money and use that to fund your next project.
 • Leverage it. Sign with the industry for a few years, then build the position to buy it back later, the way a Taylor Swift or a Drake can. Most artists pick without knowing they picked. Decide first, then read the contract. This is one piece of Contracts, Decoded, a workshop from EQ, our monthly DIY music industry summit in Miami produced by PeoplePlacesThingsMiami. The full breakdown is on our YouTube, with the contract she reads linked so you can follow along. Comment WORKSHOP for the link! Make sure your'e following @eqmusicsummit to catch the next one. _ 🎥: @humanerrorguru for PeoplePlacesThingsMiami

The room was full of exactly the people it was built for. If making music in Miami feels lonely, it's not in your head. The people who could actually help you, the managers, the engineers, the lawyers, they're not in your DMs. They're behind a wall. So most artists here do it alone until they burn out or leave. We built a room where that wall isn't there. One night a month, you're in that room. A real industry pro teaches you the stuff nobody explains, like how to read a contract before it costs you. You play your music and hear the honest truth about it. And you leave with a professional headshot you can actually use. The next one is September 22. RSVPs drop soon, so keep an eye out and we'll see you in the room. _ 📸: @drcr._

The headshots from the last EQ are in! If you came out and got your photo taken with @3.2.juanflashstudios, check your email, yours is waiting for you. If you don't see it, check your spam, and shoot us a DM if it's still not there. Big shout out to @3.2.juanflashstudios for blessing everyone with these amazing headshots. EQ is our monthly music industry summit, built to give Miami's independent creatives the tools and access to actually move their careers forward. The free headshots are one piece of that. Every edition brings real industry education and a room full of the people who can help you get where you're going. The next one is on September 22, and RSVPs drop soon, so keep an eye out.

To every artist who feels like they're doing this alone in Miami, this room is for you. EQ is our monthly music industry summit. Once a month, independent artists, producers, and engineers get in one room with the people who can actually move a career. You get free professional headshots, a workshop that teaches you something the industry usually keeps to itself, and The Demo Room, where you play a minute of unreleased music and hear honest feedback from the room. If you missed this one, the next one is September 22. Save the date, start requesting the night off of work. More info coming soon! _ 🎥: @krystalandthecity for PPTM 🎶: @ogneiljay - Know U Now
