I’ve taken a LOT of photographs of my friend Eran Bugge over the last 14 years we’ve known each other. And since it’s her birthday, I figured I’d post a few starting with one I took on Polaroid Type 55 the day we met. Also there are her official Taylor portrait, one from my Motion series, another of her showing off her muscles, oh and a closeup of her eye from the first image to show you photography nerds the insane resolution of 4x5” film. Oh and her mother still thinks I’m a serial killer. All and all a great friendship. Love you Bug! Happy Birthday!

Another sweet memory from the last few days.

I am so grateful for the technology that allows us dancers to continue to work and teach and share our art; AND there is just nothing like moving through space with other bodies. The mirror neurons firing, the electricity of unison, the joy.

This answers the question of what happens when the @paultaylordance and @markmorrisdance worlds combine - lots of leaping, lots of laughs, and endless delight in movement.

Hi Everyone! Cisco here @ciscograciano and I wanted to close out my curation here with some nostalgic moments #fromthewings I’ve danced all of these dances at some point or another but with the exception of ESPLANADE and MERCURIC TIDINGS I was mostly sitting in the wings with my camera. These moments backstage were the reason I began to shoot. I was so overwhelmed with the amount of love and support going on between everyone that I wanted to hold on to those moments forever. Furthermore, I felt like everyone else should know that my colleagues were as ebullient as humans as they were performers. There were so many more images to pull from but these all stood out to me today in the time of isolation. Thank you for following along! And thank you (again) to these amazing dancers for always allowing me to shoot them in their most vulnerable moments.

Q: How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected you as a performing artist?

In some ways the Taylor company is lucky. We had two tour stops that got cancelled. Other than that we were supposed to be rehearsing. So far we’ve only missed two performances. We’re laid off for at least five weeks as of now but we expect it to be longer. As a dancer, going through a layoff is something we’re used to. Our year usually has a few periods of time when we are laid off. But this was unexpected. The company is taking care of us to the best of their abilities. We’re able to collect unemployment. A lot of us are already set up to collect unemployment. In my 15 years, I had one other time in the company when we had five weeks off. We have a lot of work, it is a full time job, and I don't need to hustle on the side. I get health insurance. It's a very good dance job. We have amazing people running the company that keep us always working.
