A year ago, our founders discovered a vacant space right across the street from our Louise studio. They saw an opportunity to build on what they’d already created, and take the ANIMO studio experience to a whole new level.

Six months ago, construction had just begun and that vision started taking shape. This is what the space looked like back then. Today, we’re just two weeks away from bringing that vision to life.

1,200m². Three class studios: Perform, Reformer and Mat (Heated).

Much more than just a replacement for our existing Louise studio, this is about setting a new standard for the ANIMO studio experience. From training to recovery, every detail has been reimagined.

La forma, la posizione, i materiali e ciò che le cresce intorno possono cambiare tutto: anche una tavola può diventare protagonista dell'esperienza.

천으로 공간을 바꾸는 방법 🪡

주름의 깊이와 빛의 방향, 움직임에 따라 표정을 바꾸는 직물은 단단한 구조물에 유연함을 불어넣는 건축적 소재가 됩니다. 벨기에의 크리에이티브 스튜디오 ‘ERASED STUDIO(@erasedstudio)’는 벽 대신 부드러운 천을 건축적 요소로 가져와 공간의 쓰임새를 설계하는데요. 공간을 덮는 지붕이 되기도, 경계를 가르는 벽이 되기도 하며 규모와 용도에 맞게 배치해 다채롭게 변주하는 것이 이들만의 방식입니다.

2023년 결혼식 피로연을 위해 기획된 ‘Spatial Design for a Singular Night’에서는 식탁 위로 거대한 직물이 공간을 드리웠습니다. 로프를 당기면 천이 서서히 펼쳐지며 거대한 텐트의 형태를 이루고, 만찬이 끝나면 바닥 가까이 내려와 댄스 플로어를 감싸안았는데요. 만찬의 따뜻한 주황빛은 춤이 시작되면서 푸른빛으로 바뀌죠. 천에 조명을 달리하는 것만으로 식사에서 댄스 연회장으로 공간의 서사를 달리 불어넣었습니다.

또, 복합문화공간 윈터서커스(@wintercircusghent)에서 선보인 ‘Arena Pavilion System’은 광활한 실내 광장을 필요에 따라 소규모 행사장으로 전환할 수 있도록 설계한 프로젝트입니다. 고정된 벽 대신 이동식 커튼을 활용해 공간을 나누고, 그 쓰임을 유연하게 바꾼 것이죠. 홀 가장자리에는 소리의 울림을 조절하는 흡음 커튼을 두고, 중앙의 지름 15m 원형 조명 구조물에는 별도의 이동식 커튼을 매달았습니다. 평소 누구나 자유롭게 오가는 실내 광장이지만, 커튼이 수직으로 내려지면 독립적인 파빌리온이 완성됩니다. 이로써 커튼 안에서는 소규모 행사가 열리고, 바깥은 누구나 오갈 수 있는 광장으로 남아 하나의 장소에 서로 다른 기능의 공간이 공존하게 되죠.

때로는 벽이 되고, 때로는 지붕이 되는 천. ERASED STUDIO는 직물의 유연함을 통해 공간을 나누고 변화시키며, 건축이 반드시 단단한 구조물로 이루어질 필요는 없음을 보여줍니다. 슬라이드를 넘겨 ERASED STUDIO가 천으로 빚어낸 공간들을 감상해보세요.📏

Fabric becomes something else entirely when it is given room to move. Across these spaces, pleats, folds, drapes and gathered sections turn simple textiles into architectural details, creating softness against stone, concrete and steel. The way the fabric falls, stretches and catches the light gives each space a sense of movement, almost like the architecture itself is breathing.

From enormous suspended sheets to floor-to-ceiling curtains and carefully gathered drapes, the beauty is in the way the textile changes the space around it. It can frame a staircase, create a room within a room or turn an open structure into something intimate and theatrical. Sometimes, all a space needs is a little fabric.

Una cena non è soltanto una tavola, delle sedute e un momento da condividere.🍽️

Lo spazio intorno può cambiare il modo in cui arriviamo, ci sediamo, guardiamo, incontriamo gli altri e viviamo il tempo trascorso insieme.

Una struttura, una luce, un percorso o una semplice variazione dell'ambiente possono trasformare una cena in un'esperienza spaziale.

Per FUGACE, progettare una cena significa progettare anche il luogo in cui quella cena accade.✍🏻

Fabric can transform a space through its folds, drapes and natural movement. Against stone, concrete and steel, textiles bring softness, texture and a sense of fluidity to architecture, turning simple materials into something sculptural.

Quando pensiamo a uno spazio, tendiamo a concentrarci su ciò che lo occupa: strutture, materiali, arredi, elementi scenografici.

Ma anche ciò che lasciamo libero può essere una scelta progettuale.🌟

Un vuoto può diventare un centro, una soglia, una pausa, una direzione. Può mettere in relazione le persone, incorniciare ciò che esiste o semplicemente creare lo spazio necessario per fermarsi e guardare.

Progettare significa anche decidere dove non mettere qualcosa.👆🏻
