🧜‍♀️Sirens💜! This is my favorite choreography I’ve ever performed! @saleenx_ is so creative and brilliant at bringing all the pieces together into one captivating story about feminine power, with everyone (dancers AND pirates) fully committed to their characters! The dynamic shifts between scenes took us through a full spectrum of emotions, from beautiful and serene to scary and brutal, with some absolutely hilarious moments sprinkled in! Saleenx and @nwbellydanceacademy really know how to put on a show! I was so impressed, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

🦚 The Peacock Grove choreography project was an absolute pleasure to direct. The focus of this choreography was unlocking embodiment and inner confidence. I pushed my students harder than I probably ever have, not just to learn a new movement vocabulary, and advanced choreography, but to be present in the moment. To be vulnerable onstage - witnessed - seen - authentic. I am proud of each of them and delighted with the results! Keep your eyes peeled for the next casting call for this project 👀

🪽Valkyries! 💛🖤 This was such a powerful piece with amazing visual storytelling! The audience’s reaction at the @nwbellydanceacademy gala was absolutely wild! The Isis wings as the Valkyrie spirit were such a stunning, compelling element! @thorntrinity did a fantastic job preparing videos for us to learn from long distance before arriving for hell week, and fostering such great camaraderie within the group. It was such a pleasure working with her and her students! This piece was incredibly badass and felt like I was in mortal combat at times. It was so much fun and so empowering! 🖤🔥

I don’t have the words to express just how proud I am of every single one of my students. This project was a huge undertaking and they fucking did it! They went along with this wild idea that started as a small spark in my mind and turned into this masterpiece. Everyone gave the rage, the fear….all of the mixed emotions that this piece brings and then some more. They all channeled the feminine rage, whether it was for good reasons or bad reasons, and funneled it all into this performance. As women, we face so much in our daily lives, this was our chance to reclaim what is ours and reclaim it with a bang! 💥 I couldn’t have asked for a better cast. Ater The Passage, I started thinking what my next piece was going to be about. I knew that it had to be something that made the dancers feel extremely powerful on stage. Something with a storyline so we could play with emotions and expressions. But it had to be a history that we can all relate to.

Sirens is about women taking ownership of themselves. We have the right to express our sensuality, unapologeticly, and still feel safe doing it. It's about women coming together to protect each other.

Choreographing, casting, recording videos, designing costumes, making huge props, and performing happened in a period of 3 months. CRAZY, right?! I'm aware. I was lucky enough to have a team of 29 performers who believed in me, in my project, and in our group. And what a group! So many skilled and hardworking dancers!

I've heard people saying we made them feel transported to a different world. How can they not?! Look at how embodied these dancers are!! It's all about that.

Thank you, Sirens, Pirates, and NWBD Academy, for trusting the process and my vision.

Sirens was a huge success because of you!

I don't have enough words to express how grateful I am.
