From my hometown with LOVE ❤️ It was amazing to spend time in Nashville a few weeks ago for this year’s @naturbanleague conference. As usual, it always feels like a massive reunion with learnings and fun times in between. Getting to hear from Atlanta favorites like @spotonrw and being in the room with Vice President @kamalaharris were some of my biggest highlights.

I’m especially proud of my friends who won their national elections and will usher in a new era of leadership for @nulyp. Congratulations to @ashbaker03, who will become President, @ericatookthat who will become Executive Vice President, and @dukepa who will become Secretary. You all deserve this, and I can’t wait to see you lead and inspire us even more!

The other very exciting part was that our Atlanta chapter, @ulgayp, also won awards, including the highly coveted National Chapter of Excellence! As a former ELT member, I’m so proud of the executive leadership team and the members for all of their hard work and dedication that went into making this possible.

Even with all that is happening across our society, I’m always grateful to be a part of this movement. It’s easy to isolate and retreat, but choosing to stay civically engaged is one of the most courageous things we can do right now.

As the saying goes: Once an Urban Leaguer, always an Urban Leaguer! ❤️See y’all in Los Angeles in 2027! 🌟

“No need to attend, this is just for your awareness” - a text I sent once I got confirmation it was happening. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. I didn’t even call but they ANSWERED! On the first ring and on speaker! This has been my BEST graduation celebration yet. Even when my memory starts to go, this will be one that holds on. I can’t thank-My friends. My family. The end of this season officially marks my 10th year at the track. 🏆

It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have found a job that both challenges and heals. That has forced me to develop thick skin but also gifted me with fearless confidence. Through the joyful highs and the devastating lows, I’ve always been so incredibly proud of the intentional work I’ve been involved in and so grateful to be along for the ride! 🏁
