We are honored to welcome our Metro East @uwfaithhtc to KPUMC today!
We are awed by the faith and power of all these United Methodist women, supporting our connection and serving their own mission fields!

At KPUMC, we are so honored to serve our neighbors at Hillcrest House just down the street from our church. Once a month we come to serve a meal to the residents here and our connection with them is growing deep.

We know residents by first name.
We see them at 7-11.

Several of residents have started visiting our church and one of them has joined.

All this is to say one of the side benefits of being servant Christians are the connections you make in the community you serve.

And every month I know I speak for all of us when I say we leave Hillcrest House with a full heart.

We’re hosting our next training! 🦋

You’ll hear from some of our boots-on-the-ground volunteers about how we help community members prepare for an appointment at the Dallas ICE Field Office, and what follows if a detainment occurs.

If you’re looking for a way to help reduce harm done by ICE, and be in community with our affected neighbors, please join us. You don’t have to speak Spanish to help! Smiles and kindness goes a long way.

Location will be emailed, ID will be asked at the training. See y’all there! ✊🏽

La Colectiva NTX is a collective of 100% volunteers and caring community members who provide on-the-ground care, support, and mutual aid to individuals and family members affected by US Immigration Enforcement.

Aid, care, and support is provided daily outside the US Immigration & Customs Enforcement Field Office in Dallas.

Setting up our tent Monday – Saturday at 6:00 a.m. each morning, we provide non-legal advice, comforting food, and emotional/spiritual support for those going in for their appointments, and financial assistance for families of detained community members.

Each week our volunteer team and hotline come into contact with approximately 75 community members and in a single month we disburse approximately $7500 - $10,000 in aid to families.

Through North Texas Giving Day we aim to raise $50,000 which will sustain our efforts for the next 5 months.

La Colectiva is built on community taking care of community — comunidad cuidando a comunidad. We serve families regardless of immigration status, language, income, or background, while working intentionally to make resources accessible to those who are too often left without support.

Your North Texas Giving Day gift helps us keep showing up: supporting families in crisis, equipping volunteers, providing essential resources, and strengthening a community response rooted in dignity, solidarity, and hope.

Because when a family is facing uncertainty, they should never have to face it alone.

You can donate via the QR code or text Colectiva to (844) 844-6844.

Today is our KPUMC 2026 Leadership Board Retreat.
We’re learning about our church size and how we might move to the next level. We’re also reviewing last year’s goals and making new ones.
