Hey everyone my 4 week autobiographical screenwriting master class is full but I have some space left in my mini 2 week course. DM me for details! These stills are from my most autobiographical film Things Behind The Sun with the most incredible cast @kimdickens @gabriel_mann @doncheadle @ericstoltzofficial @patsykensit @rosannaarquette @alisonfolland @ariaalpertadjani @brittanyreneefinamore @thejoshualeonard @xonneliak @kadulennox @jadelain and deeply missed Elizabeth Pena. Score by @sonicyouth_official original songs by written by @annawaronker and Charlotte Caffey @jmascis @jeffmcdonaldofficial @stevenmcdonald, the latter 3 are also in the film as members of Kim’s band. It was a life changing experience to go back to the literal scene of a crime and film there. It might be the closest you can get to autobiographical noir? Don Cheadle was nominated for an Emmy for his incredible performance and Kim was nominated for a Spirit Award for Best Actress for her gorgeous raw brave work, and Don and the film and myself got Spirt Award noms too. The film won a Peabody. It’s now available to watch on Prime.

Then and Now

Memphis Belle (1990)

The crews are about to be told that the mission is Bremen. For the Belle, their 25th and final mission is no milk run.

This is the best angle I could get in the briefing room used in the movie, which was also an actual briefing room at the former RAF Binbrook base.

*this was the best angle I could get safely.
