“Music tends to have a way of hearing you by speaking to you.” — @realmarcusking

Filmed with Marcus in Tennessee, this deeply personal installment finds him speaking candidly about his own mental health journey, including depression, bipolar disorder, therapy, and the importance of having people you can lean on for support.

For his song, Marcus chose @Wilco’s “Either Way,” a song he says he connected with in a profound way. Remarkably, he had never played it himself before the day we filmed.

This video begins Suicide Prevention Month. @soundsofsaving @988Lifeline @vibrant

If you or someone you know needs support, you can call or text 988, 24/7.

“I think that’s one of the scariest things about addiction. It takes away your sense of self-efficacy and your sense of motivation. You wake up and you’re like, ‘I need this thing to be okay.’ So I went to rehab a year ago. It taught me a lot about surrendering. Once you’ve accepted that you need help with something and you open yourself to that, you connect with others who are going through something, and you’re there for them too. That gives you strength.” - @skullcrusher.online

As part of our “Song That Found Me at the Right Time” series, Helen Balentine, the indie-folk singer-songwriter behind Skullcrusher, opens up about her experience with addiction, finding connection in rehab and learning to sit with anxiety and darker emotions.

Ballentine delivered a chilling and gorgeous rendition of “Song to the Siren’ by Tim Buckley in the style of This Mortal Coil, as she reflects on the importance of being still and immersing yourself in the music.

Beneath its melodic and soft soundscapes the lyrics confront pain and desire for surrender with remarkable poignancy.

We had so much fun for @eyebuydirect we made 3 additional individual stories.

The 1st was inspired by the anxiety we all know to well when we gotta run 6 blocks cuz we think we’re late (and honestly probably are 🤷🏻‍♂️ )

The 2nd captures the energy we feel when getting all the right ingredients for a perfect night out 🍬📸

And the 3rd for when you walk into your favorite store that just always feels like home 👗🏡

Congrats @eyebuydirect for 20 years. Heres to 20 more 🎉😎🎈
