you won’t find a no-buy challenge here.
.
just tricks on how I moved into intentional shopping. here are the four things I think about before buying anything.
.
1. shop preloved first. it’s 2026… there are TONS of apps, websites, social media accounts etc that are selling preloved items. not to mention in store! some of my favorites? @therealreal & @grandmadiditbetter
.
2. Is the mental weight worth it? every item that comes into my house not only has to be physical stored, but I also mentally keep track of it. every time I see this item, will it bring me a smile or anxiety? I choose from there.
.
3. does it fit me? and no I don’t mean size. (well of course that too) I am talking does it fit my current life - content creating, event attending, weightlifting, dog loving, date night having mom. not the jetsetting makeup artist I was or the tech founder & CEO I will be or the trad-life, hiking, hippie I day dream of being.
.
4. am I stealing from my needs? this has been a big one. I thought it wouldn’t be sexy having a savings, that a Prada bag was better. well tell that to me on Friday having to get my tires patched & actually just having the funds for it instead of having to shift around ten other budgets. IT FEELS REALLY NICE.
.
.
if any of the resonates with you or you just want to watch a 37 year old gal navigate decluttering her life & finances on the internet while still buying the occasional Hermes bag, you’re in the right place 💕🫶🏼

what. a. month.
.
I shoved my family into an RV and ran with it. Turns out being in such close quarters and having an absolute blast (with just as many tantrums from everyone involved) will spark a massive perspective shift on my part. This month really reiterated what it’s all about. Continuing to roll with this goodness into August which means I’ll be 37 & who knows what dust that will kick up 😂

I have been visiting Bend, OR for a decade & was a resident for 5 years there too. One thing has always remained the same, upon stepping into @jackandmillie_bend there is beauty in every single corner. Their selection, the design, the warm welcome you receive when walking in - everything! I’ve adored this stunning place since my first visit to town & it still holds true to this day. If you’re stopping into Bend, no matter the season, you’ve got to go.

one of our goals for this year was to make space in the budget for travel. so when our yearly trip to Bend, OR aligned with a job I have in Sun Valley, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to rent an rv, pack it full of two adults, a 4 yr old and an 80lb dog and drive across the country stopping in Yellowstone (we saw a bear! elk! bison!). it’s been absolutely crazy in the best possible way. do it. do it. do it.
