Fun half day of yellowtail fishing. Sure beats the heat on land. Good times with @dustinpwalsh @tkw09 and the twins.

It was good to see some really nice kelps off our bow finally. Aquarium style fishing on yellowfin tuna, skipjack tuna, bullet tuna with a handful of yellowtail and dorado in the mix. Saw a couple marlin but no takers today. Good times with @the.desert.wanderer and his crew.

El Niño delivered… 19 yellowfin, 9 skipjack, 2 dorado, and one striped marlin. @erniegorham and @wildgoosefishing got us on the tuna bite early and later in the day were able to entice the striped marlin on the flyline. After about 1hr the fish was landed and successfully released. Fish of a lifetime✅

A great scoop of sardine from @everinghambaitbarge led to a fantastic morning of fishing. From sight fishing for marlin to fly lining baits in the corner for yellowfin, skipjack and dorado. We are spoiled and loving the opportunity that El Niño has brought us.
Good times with @nick_medjo @g.landandsea et al

Having the islands to ourselves has its advantages and disadvantages: the sea lions and birds were difficult. Fortunately we were able to slide some nice yellowtail past their watchful eyes. Great half day on this Labor Day!

The excellent yellowfin tuna fishing continues with limits and others released. 5 dorado hit the deck on small scraps of kelp and open water trolling in less than ideal spotting conditions. There is a magical kelp out there waiting to be found.

Lots of catch and release this morning for Noah’s bachelor party. A few handfuls of yellowfin and skipjack along with many that ended in the mouths of the sea lions.

No glorious dock shot, but plenty of glory to go around on yesterdays charter. As good as it gets, in the corner action on 8-40lb yellowfin tuna. Kept our 25 and released 15 other. 7 skipjack tuna also in the mix. Home early with smiles all around. #elnino2026

Some half day yellows for our father and son group in crystal clear water.

What can I say: it was a fun morning of fishing for our father and son group from Michigan. 18 yellowfin tuna, 5 dorado, 2 yellowtail. Done fishing by 10:30am. The season is shaping up. One or two more openings in August, but still some availability in September. Shoutout to @everinghambaitbarge who is working their tails off trying to get us bait to fish with everyday. It’s been a challenge, really the last couple of years, but we go as they go and the mix of chovies and sardine was the ticket today.

A mixed bag for us yesterday. Definitely felt like we made the best of the conditions we had. Good vibes all day long!

Ripper style yellowtail fishing off a loaded kelp(s) for Toby and his brothers from South Carolina and Georgia. We had our work cut out for us with only 2” pinhead anchovies being served up at the bait dock so we decided to buy a scoop for chum and tie on some flatfalls. Pretty darn fun fishing when that jig stops fluttering on its way down and you come tight. The water was beautiful and the fish were feisty. Let’s go fishing! Shared trip opportunity coming next week. Stay tuned.
