24hrs in Lisbonitaaaa! 🤸‍♀️🌞🇵🇹✨ human connection has always been the most important part of my life. my parents used to exasperatedly say “why is social the most important thing to you?!?” when I’d insist on going to a friend’s house instead of doing homework, or feel upset when ski racing pulled me away from events with my friends.

I used to judge myself and feel so ashamed of how people-oriented I was…I felt like there was something wrong with me because I was different than those around me

but now…I just spent less than 24hrs in a new city exhausted after facilitating embodied movement all week at my first retreat ~ and my heart feels sparky and alive…whyyyy?!!? THE PEOPLE!!! the sparkliness of Lisbon came from the sparkliness of human connection!! 🥹🫂✨

I am a people person
I love the people in my life
and I love the people I have yet to meet, who will one day be in my life
connection and relationships are what matter most to me
it’s why I do the work that I do ~ working 1:1 with people, connecting with them to support their relationships with themselves and others

and I wonder…
what if, instead of all that shame and self-judgement, I simply allowed me to be me, and openly valued what I genuinely value?

because we can deny what’s important to us all we want…but the truth is the truth ~ whether we speak it out loud or not!!!

Why this salon theme?
Movement is an essential part of our female health and over the course of our lifetime the body is changing, therefore how we move, train, practice needs to shift too. Head trainer Errin Briscoe will guide us through some exercises that bring us into different states to create an experiential moment in the body before and we use the time remaining to share our own experiences.

Why at MVMT?
MVMT is a movement and wellness studio where play is a catalyst for expansion, and togetherness is the greatest teacher. The ethos of the studio pivots around building community through connection and cross discipline training. Everyone who attends is encouraged to embrace novelty within the variety of classes and give themselves space to let their training be a sustainable, creative and ultimately enjoyable outlet, not just a box ticking exercise.

What Re. punk salons?
The Re. punk salons are informal gatherings in spaces that provide context for the topics we want to discuss during the salon. The salons are based on: Viennese salon in the 1920s that were intimate gathering, typically hosted in a private home, where artists, intellectuals, scientists, and writers met to exchange radical ideas across disciplines — blurring the boundaries between art, philosophy, politics, and science.

We never grew out of playing outside. We just started calling it other things.

Trail running. Sea swimming. Dancing. Taking the scenic route. Trying something new and being quite happy to give it a go.

For one week in Baška, we gave ourselves permission to do more of what makes us feel alive. Moving through wild places. Making things with our hands. Laughing with people we’d only just met. Going barefoot. Slowing down enough to take it all in.

Somewhere between the trails and the dancefloor, we remembered how good this can feel.

To everyone who came to Love Trails Croatia: thank you for bringing that part of yourselves. The curious, playful, up-for-anything part. You made this week what it was. 💛

And thank you to @vivobarefoot for helping make it possible.

Here’s to holding onto a little of this magic in everyday life.

A wonderful woman has had to cancel my Greece Women’s Retreat September 27th-October 4th and it’s her wish that the place be gifted to someone. We’re gathering for a week of myth and the symbolic life, @the360emergence dance, and Katonah Yoga® magic. You’re responsible for your flight, transportation to the venue and back, contributions to car shares or taxis, and an optional yacht day. But your private room at the villa, meals, and all programming is yours a 3300 euro gift.

These talented teachers work the mechanical side of movement as well as the imaginative and conceptual side; bringing a great level of depth into their sessions.
